Pirates of the Caribbean: Patriots and Emperors

I like the second one. Looks pretty cool.
A minor suggestion: Perhaps you could mix several images together? All of yours are that of the Royal Navy. This mod is for the Napoleonic Wars: Spain, France, Holland, Portugal, USA, UK, Russia... everyone was involved. Maybe you could have some with the French or Americans, or several faded together?

My ones are manly focusing on Napoleons Navy and his enemy the Royal Navy, i picked them because they had fought so many times before.

I will make another loading screen and new game loading screen, also i will add some more countries to them; instead of just Britain and France.

P.S. the first one is a battle between the french and the British.

edit: Would someone be able to find me some pictures of British, Dutch, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, French or American vessels, so i can put them in to a loading screen.

edit 2:<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Constitution" target="_blank">I am definitely putting this in.</a>

Sirs,
This mod would, I think, be a great addition to the Napoleonic-Era mod, it makes the player able to "tune" his/her ship. You can got to this topic <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7362&st=0" target="_blank">here</a>.

Thanks, i will start work, soon.

Here is another loading screen.

In the top left hand corner, the French Flagship from Trafalger.

In the top right hand corner, the Spanish Flagship from Trafalger.

In the bottom left hand corner, the HMS Vistory.

And in the bottom right hand corner, the USS Constitution vs the HMS Guerriere .

It is quite big (Imageshack wouldn't host it!), it is 2048 x 2048, i have registered on photobucket.

I like the mod too, Nelson. However, I shall like to wait for it to complete it's beta testing before applying it to this mod. One thing at a time. The first release of this mod should contain minor additions, like ships, characters, and quests. Things that don't truly depend on function codes that are edited in the builds. This is more like a timeline advancement to apply on top of a build, so old looking ships and people become Napoleonic. We need to put that mod into the build, not this addon.

I have a question about this mod: With what modpack are you going to make it compatible? Build 12.1? Or the Build 13 we're working on?

About the loading screens: They look great, but the latest version is rather full. I would recommend just using one painting for one loading screen. In the Post Build 12 mods (and Build 13, once done), you will be able to choose a nation before starting the game. I think we can code it in, so that for each chosen nation, you see a different loading screen. Then you can make 6 or so loading screens Of course, your startup nation doesn't need to be the nation you'll support during the game. You can start as English, then help the Dutch, then defect and join the French and start fighting England. I think that would be a great way of handling this mod: Then the player has the freedom to support, defect and attack whoever and whenever he likes.

You won't have to add that into your add-on if you base the add-on on the Build 13.1 version we'll be making as soon as Build 13 is done. I thought this add-on was meant to change the time period and the missions, but not add more features that could/will be in the regular Builds.

Yes, because vice has been taken over from latin doesnt it?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I think so, yes. And I should know: I learned Latin at school. Not that it is of much use to me now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

don't make it compitable with an build..should be the easiest way , I think..
I make my files on a build mod called :

Post Build 12 Version: Saturday 22 April 2006
Full version

lets make it on that,
my 2 $$cents

Johannes Scherjon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

thn I have to start all over:p
I think its the best way to make a non compitable version..a stand alone version <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Ok, I've run into a problem.
The only files that I have modded the base PotC game with are the following:
1. build12_full.zip
2. post_b12_full.zip
3. Realisim Mod.zip
4. Inzane's Surprise
5. Master&Commander sounds
6. Sloop_o_War
7. Flag Pack.zip
8. JMV - Britain, Spain, France Military Reskins (1793-1815).zip
9. Frigateuss.zip
10. Ship of Line74
11. SOL64NEW

I insert the 1st disk, my Build Settings Folder contains the following changes:
New Name: Thomas Daniels
Money: 9999 (So I can try new ships from yards.)
Ship: SOL64

In the character_ini, I made the following changes:
New skin: ch.model= "brtcpt1_18"; // NK (Does the //NK have something to do with this?)
Added immortality so I can get out of swordfights quickly and keep looking at new stuff.

Nothing else is changed, everything is installed EXACTLY as instructed.

When I click on the icon on the desktop, the console opens up and loads the game, but stops and a window appears.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: ...s\Betheseda Softworks\Pirates of the Caribbean\ENGINE.exe
abnormal program termination

I want to know if anyone else has gotten this, and what is the cause of this problem. I'm guessing that something isn't compatable with everything else, or maybe there is a file that needs something else to run. Not sure.
I followed all Readmes' instructions and haven't done anything else. I just modded the origional base game with the files listed above TODAY. It was a clean game before that. I had installed it after deleting the folder from the drive so nothing was left behind. Tested the game with the post build 12 and it worked perfectly, then added the other ships, flags, and skins.

(I'll bet Pieter has an answer for this... he always does. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />)

I would recommend turning on error logging to see what might be the cause. Also: I am not sure if that realism mod and the JMV skinpack are compatible with post_b12_full.zip. I actually, I think that they are not compatible. I would recommend installing the latest Post Build 12 mods, then add the additional officer skins pak by Jack Davidson on top. That includes most JMV skins and IS compatible with the latest modpack. Then install the other mods. Some ships you then won't have to install, because they're already in the pack.

BTW: The "// NK" doesn't have to do with anything. Everything after // isn't read by the program. In this case it's a comment added by Nathan Kell to show that he changed that code. The same goes for code between /* and */. That isn't read by the program either.

Thank you very much! I'll look into the matter.

EDIT: I see three .rar files on the ftp.
JMV & Jack Davidson British Marines
JMV & Jack Davidson new officer uniforms
JMV & Jack Davidson Officers and English Marines

Do I need a particular one, all three, or does it matter? Also, these are just the files themselves, where do I put them? I would imagine in the resource/models/characters folder.

EDIT 2: I went to resource/models/characters and deleted all the jmv skins, overwrote ship_init (it was modded with the b12 and post b12 already.) and added the specific ships into it that I needed to cut and paste from the readmes. Still nothing. Did the jmv pack add stuff into other folders that I need to delete?

Ok, got the game to work. It was the SOL64New. I figured since I had to replace a ship walk file, that it threw the game off. I was right, put the old one back in and took the 64 out and it works fine now. I also removed the JMV skin pack and the Realisim Mod.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> there JPJ,

Haven't been around much lately, just dropped in for a quick peek and noticed this one.

Use JMV & Jack Davidson Officers and English Marines which is just a combination of the other two. The original JMV - Britain, Spain, France Military Reskins (1793-1815) will not work in any capacity as many of the portraits and much coding were either missing or incomplete/incompatible. When I get a chance I'll finish of the JMV skins (French and Spanish soldiers still to come) and Deringers skins (British Redcoats, French CFM troops, Norrington, British General, Colonel, RN officers).

Cheers and thanks to JMV and Deringer for their superb texture work.

Cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

ThaX
ps. please respond ASAP I want to start with the first english quest line.
so that there can be a 1.1 release of the Patriots and Emperors

About the JMV skinpack Jack Davidson added: It's available from my website, so you don't need to get it from the FTP.

Commodore JPJ,
I have made several additions in the sound files department, but I didn't remove the old files because this give a diverse sound and allows for the difference between officers. Not all officers would have an upper-class accent. One of the sound clips was horrible, because the person talking said, "Boat's Wane" instead of "bosun", also, you don't set furled sails, you furl your sails.
