Those pictures are from Age of Empires III. I thought that game would be great. But it sucked. Age of Empires II was the best game of all time, I bought it in 5th grade, and now as a Junior in high school I still play it regularly. It's a pretty popular game, check out www.aok.heavengames.com. I made a campaign for it that was pirate/Napoleonic themed.

I like the American ships! PotC would have been so much better if Akella had set it during the 1730s and had American vessels available.
 
1730s...American? How about 1776 and American? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I second that. I thought about getting AoEIII, but didn't. It doesn't look accurate or fun. I'd rather play Imperial Glory.

I'd buy it, that would be great.

I have Imperial Glory too. Sort of an inaccurate game, but what the hell. Seems to be the only Napoleonic game of its sorts. If someone were to make a Richard Sharpe FPS game where you have swords/Baker rifles/muskets/pistols etc. and fight the French in a Halo 2/Half Life 2 style gameplay, I'd be very happy. Plus, when you unlock Sgt. Harper, you get a 7-barrelled volley gun!

Oh my God, I just realized how amazing that would be. SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE THIS.

I'd love to see a game about the napoleonic era thats structured like Battlefield or Battlefront! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
Just think, Source engine powered graphics, Call of Duty 2 style gameplay...all in a Napoleonic setting, with good voice acting and NO BUGS, that would be the best game of all time. Then there could be a level where you fight aboard a ship, as a marine or whatnot, and a fort-attack level, and then a good, old fashioned gutter brawl field battle. Wow.
 
I thought of how a game like that would sell. The thought of just standing there in a field, reloading a musket, is not appealing to most. But you could make it more of a run around shooting like CoD2 if they made a game off of <u>The Patriot</u>!
 
All they'd have to do was let the 12 year olds have cheat codes that give them AK 47s and dual Uzis.

Actually, what they'd have to do would be to make it fast paced, like the Sharpe's ______ novels. He never really stands in a musket line, except for a few times, and when he does, it's entertaining. It would be great for cutscenes, and as a player challenge to see how fast they can reload and shoot.

"Battlefield 1812", and then the expansion "Battlefield 1815: Waterloo". They'd need to something about the annoying class-system in BF1942, instead make it more like Half Life 2 or Halo 2 (in HL2 you can pick up as many weapons as you can, but in Halo 2 you can only carry 2 (realistic). )
 
You know, a game like this could be on the drawing board. The PotC movies have been so successful and an interest in the period has started. They've been making sailing RPGs mostly, and a few swordplay games... its about time for an FPS!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

I've had an idea for the mod,

In the 19th century, there were many whalers sailing, that's an important element of the M&C serie,

So, couldn't we add a new good item the <b><i>whale oil</i></b> what do you think about it, that would make nice prizes, and we could also make the new merchant ship type going with it : <b>the whaler</b>, it would be transporting only, big whale oil cargos!

What do you think about that, do you think we can do it?

I think to that their isnt a realistic napoleonic/ pirate/ historical shooter. But i play battlefield pirates to, it isnt realistic, but is more fun to shoot someone with a flintlock rifle then with a machine gun :p
 
I like the idea of Whale Oil. I also like the prospect of a Whaler. But how to get it so we run into a ship classed as merchant that uses the Whaling ship and carries Whale Oil... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
 
I would love a game in the napoleonic era or like master and commander, that would be so cool.
