Ok, the P&E BETA is on the ftp. Sorry 'bout the big, lengthly download. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

However, it is out there and we can now start to put a little more focus into the quests and more stuff for P&E v1. The ships look great, but we still don't have everything, so now we have more time to look into that.
What the mod has:
New sounds, voices, music
New ships - an English fleet save a first rate, a French fleet save a first rate and brig, a Spanish lineship and an American frigate.
New characters - British and French soldiers
New flags
I made the mod on the b12 and pb12 that are listed on the Build forum, but the beta is a collection of seperate files, more of a manual download... so it should work with anything. When we get the rest of the ships, I'll put it on with the pb13 and upload it as a .zip that you simply extract over the game.
I had an idea for some of the color schemes. I would like to eventually see ships with these paintjobs.

Go to Gallery then screenshots.
The creme and yellow ships are Russian.
The grey and green are the Austrians.
The gray and black are the Prussians.
The Prussian scheme would look great as the Spanish.
The Austrian scheme would be good for the Dutch.
The Russian scheme would look good for Portugal.
The Spanish lineship that Morgan made looks exactly like the French.
Something else I would like to try is to make reskins that copy over the stock ships. We need to set up a system that keeps things seperated and easy to understand.
Battleship1, Frigate1, Brig1, etc. = Britain.
2 = France.
Then come added ships.
3 = Holland.
4 = Spain.
5 = Portugal.
6 = Nuteral, aka United States.
The goal of this idea is to get the game to a point where most of the ships you run into look uniformed and part of a navy, rather than a custom paintjob.
Is there a setting that allows certain ships to certain nations? If not, it would help... the game would look good but strange when you see a fleet of three French warships and one British frigate...
When it comes to pirates, they are not allowed to use any of these military ships. They also don't have an official paintjob.
I would also like to try and take a little stress off our shipbuilders. I am seeing all these different lineships with 74 and 64 guns. Lets start to look at the number of gundecks rather than actual guns. Once we have a pretty strong set of ships, then we can start to get more detailed.
Look at the first page with the To do list.
I know that many of you, especially Seb' have been working long and hard to make these ships. The current ones are excellent, but they are more of an American Revolution set (Heh heh heh... I'm getting an idea for another mod... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />). They can be useful and great additions to b13, but I've been looking at actual prints and paintings from the Napoleonic era... and the schemes above are more of what this mod should give its players.
I'm sort of one for extreme accuracy and detail... lets make P&E v1 an amazing piece of work.
