Leaving for sea: The final week starts

Thanks very much, all. I flew to Barcelona yesterday, which all went pretty smooth. Went to the hotel, had dinner in town and joined the ship today. So far, so good. Lots of people I know still here. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

my ur travels be blessed with good fortune.and the sun always shine <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

The sun always shining didn't quite work out (we had nights every now and then, after all), but things did work out fine in the end.
In any case, I am pleased to tell you that I've been back home since Saturday and will start on getting a bit more involved here again.
Of course I've been dropping in on the forums every now and then, but I didn't quite keep track of everything that happened.
So I was rather hoping you could help me re-find all the latest releases, news, fixes, etc.

For your information, I've gotten word that I'll get to work as Fourth Officer aboard the MS Maasdam on the 3rd of October 2009.
That means that from then on, I will be at sea for 2/3 of the year, during which time I have much less time available,
nor a quick internet connection for uploading/downloading big files.

I'm thinking I would like to release a Build 14 Alpha 10 full installer before I leave in a month.
It'd be great if we could include as much content as possible in that release, of course.
And it might be time again for some ModDB articles leading up to the release. :cheeky

Good luck then as a fourth officer Pieter! :252_ship_captain:
Too bad you'll not be here so much. :(

Thanks very much; I'll still be here, just less.
I've been gone before, so it shouldn't be that much different. :doff

I will have certain difficulties to finish the ships update project within a month, maybe we should add it as a separated download later? :s

Don't worry; I'll return again as well, so everything that doesn't make it into the next update will be added to another one in the future. :yes

Today I received my contract as Fourth Officer,
so my departure on the 2nd of October is official now.
All that's left is for me to receive my flight details.
So starting then, I'll be off for two months and back for two months after that.
And then it'll be four months on, two months off.

Of course I'll try to keep somewhat active on the forums while I'm away,
but I won't be doing much. You should be able to continue on your own just fine though. :doff

I'll join the ship in Boston, then sail to Montreal and back to the Caribbean.

I'll be on the Maasdam:

Cool! Well, we can go on on our own, but we can't release any compiled modpacks :p
Uh? Why not? You've got access to the FTPs,
there are moderators who can update the posts (you included!) and anyone can post new stuff on the ModDB too.

Assistant watch officer and assistant fire safety or lifesaving appliances.

I'll join the ship in Boston, then sail to Montreal and back to the Caribbean.

If you get the chance when in Montreal, I'd suggest visiting the oldest part of town - it's home to the oldest garden on the continent, and there's a Seminary there that was built in the late 1600s. It's also home to Canada's oldest skyscraper, the New York Life Building built in 1887.

More on the area can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Montreal

I don't expect I'll be able to go ashore there, but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks. :doff
