then i must sadly inform u ur wrong path files actualy define the space player can move on ,and preventing him from walking throu stuff placed on deck
like (masts,barrels,kafstans,etc)

It's the <i><shipname>_path.gm</i> for first person view and walk file for the crew, isn't it?
 
Don't feel bad, Kazeite. As I remember you and I were working on the same assumptions we've been using for our modelling efforts for years. So the simple fact that some of our old assumptions were wrong should NOT surprise us in the least. At least now we are finally getting the info and tools to do a proper job of building new assets for the game, rather than the working, but improper 'kludges' we have been using. **smiles**

i notice that some ships are missing those meshes ,so if u want i can make them but it will take a bit of time, by the way could someone provide me the password for akella tools
 
So the empty areas should be done for anything on the deck we can't walk on, correct? Like barrels, boxes and such?

Aha! If I might beg you try an expirament? If you take this path model and create 'ramps' up to the tops will we be able to walk up to them in first person?
 
i think its possible but we would need the path mesh to be completly transparent instedof texturing it ,il give it a shot when im done with locators <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shoot.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shoot:" border="0" alt="shoot.gif" />

No, no, <b>Crow</b> - I did know that <i><shipname>_path.gm </i>is for the player, and walk file is for crewmembers - I simply mixed up those two in this thread <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

And, <b>Zareth</b>, even if you can't make path file transparent in Maya, I know a way to make it transparent in TOOL, so don't worry <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

There's some information that Flint provided us with to put a GM file back into Maya so it can be re-exported.

Mates iv got some bad news i accidently messed up me hierarchy tree(wich im now rebuildin) so it will take a bit before we se her sailin

Yay!!! The more the sails the better!!! I will surely have this ship in my fleet if it have all the sails the real ship has.....i hate seeing the ships with so few sails...and im sure someone will agree with me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />
