Mod Release Gentlemen Of Fortune 2.0

At what level does this start to happen? I have not seen this no powder problem yet.

EDIT: I was messing around trying to make the sea look less green and more sea blue when I accidentally edited a wrong line. No I didn't copy it first. :facepalm Anyway, I copy pasted the file from an old GOF 1.2 install and found out it made things worse, but it is at least no ctding now.
Soo, could someone please post a clean copy of GOF2 --->program--->weather--->init--->Day.c? :oops:
 
Boarding is broken to now i cant board anything either

aye started a new game today and the problems are even in the newgame now :(

and btw.. i hope none of that blue disney-like water i saw in POTC or Build mod, cant remember exactly, makes it into GOF. the only place that stuff belongs is in a bottle of medicinal alcohol.

I beg your pardon? A lot of refinement has gone into the water properties in the Build Mod to make it resemble the Caribbean Sea, instead of some fantasy ocean or the North Sea.

personally i would go with pic2 any day. but as everyone has their own taste its not something to get worked up about

that sure ain't no Caribbean blue.. but who said that has to be the "real" Caribbean sea in AOP2 ;)
 
There is no need to get into a pissing contest. There have been plenty of sailors who have been out there who say the sea is blue, not green, and that is what I am trying to change for my copy of COAS. I personally can not get immersed in the COAS world as it is.

Well, if there's one thing I agree with, it's that the shorelines in PotC are rubbish compared to CoAS. That's down to engine differences, though. :facepalm
Still, I'm not much of a fan of the foggy horizon in CoAS. That's one engine mishap we don't have in PotC. :p
 
DarthSCG: Your first screenie does not look right to me so I went back to POTC and ayup, your POTC screenie is well over a year old. That is indeed how POTC used to look and we all hated it, but there has been so much improvement since May of last year that now COAS is the one that looks bad in comparison.
Currently I say that COAS is better on land and POTC is better at sea. What I am trying to do (badly) is give COAS the POTC look at sea. Modern Knight was also working on this before he moved on. Anyway, look at these screenies and consider what COAS would look like with that blue sea and sky.

How can I set rates of ships appearance on the map?? I think larger ships appear too rarely. After hours of playing all ships I've met poses no threat to my corvette. It's boring fighting brigantines and sloops all the time.
 
Yep, i believe the weapon might have been changed in GOF 1.2, and since most stuff has been ported over from that version, this is something that i feel wasn't ported over.:facepalm

realistic encounters mod option maybe?
 
I just fixed the spanker on sloop1 so that it points in the correct direction relative to the wind. This is a big change for this ship, so here are some screenies.

Is there some quick fix I could make on my own (just rewriting a few lines) to set it right, or is it more complex?

Winmerge is all you need bud, compare files from GOF2 to GOF 1.2 and see what you can find, i didn't get chance to look last night (kids all have colds) so its a very long night, finally when the kids did fall asleep i soon got my head down (got a headache though because of not much sleep).:(

maybe this isn't the right place to post Bugs related to GOF2.0 but I get only a black screen when I launch the game
:modding .. I've installed GOF2.0 and patch 2.0.7... Does anyone know how to make it run?
