WIP Centurion

Ok, that should be enough to get started. I will have questions later.

1st question: The main GM calls for DECOR.tga. Is this DECC.tga renamed?

Ah yeah, sorry, forgot to include that texture.
Renamed it to avoid confusion with existing deco.tga (Soleil Royal texture) and the many other four-letter "de-" textures.

Question: What are fireplaces? I put 9 of them randomly around the ship but really do not know what they are.

fireplaces? i dont know what you are talking about really. maybe they define where fires happen when the ship catches fire?

All I know is that the game complains about ships that do not have them, like the Poseidon.

maybe they define where fires happen when the ship catches fire?
Exactly that. Without them a ship cannot catch fire, so it's no wonder the game complains.

All ships lacking fireplace locators should really have them added for Beta 2.2. Are there any besides the Poseidon which don't have them?

I know the FR_Dilligente does not have them.

The SotL do not have them.
The US_Enterprise does not have them.
The HMS_Indefatigable "" " ""
The FR_Fleuron
The FR_Boussole

The list is smaller than expected.

EDIT: The SotL do indeed have fireplaces. They are in deck2.

Hmm, that's not too bad then. Funny how no-one has noticed the lack of fires breaking out on those apparently fire-proof ships. xD

The SotLs no longer have fireplaces because _deck and _deck2 were made redundant with the main hull upgrade, so they are no longer used.
At least the locators can be copied across to the hull model, though.

The Dilligente is brand new, so this would not be noticed. The others are very rare ships. The Boussole is the only one I have spent any time with, and I never noticed.

Back on topic............

I have gone as far as I can with the hull, which looks fine now. It has cannons and fireplaces. The masts and yards still have no textures. I also still don't know how to make a walk file.

oh thats right I need to look at the masts and see if it is the same problem. sorry with so many projects its easy to lose track:facepalm I'll get on that ASAP.

I also still don't know how to make a walk file.
There is a tutorial by Thomas the Terror on making Sailorspoints here, but I realise it may not be so clear and easy to follow. It's on my list of tutorials to improve.
You obviously need to use the walk file converter to make the files work in PotC.

Here is a closeup of mast 3 as delivered. It has textures now, but not the correct ones. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/76702168/POTC screenies/Centurion-11.jpg

Here is mast 3 after renaming DECO to DECC, and renaming wood to wnod. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/76702168/POTC screenies/Centurion-12.jpg

So it appears we have masts now but still no yards, unless of course you are not happy with wnod.

EDIT: There is something wrong with mast 2. It still has the same problem as the yards. It has a wood color but no textures.
