Fix in Progress Build 4.1 Side quest - Vogel

A.H

Privateer
I took the Dutch smuggler's note from Bonnaire and now must hand it to Contre Admiral in Hispaniola.. but when I go there, I receive orders to go to Boca de Yuman nearby and intercept an anchored Dutch pinnace before the spaniards get there.

But this doesn't get implemented on quest book so the trigger to make event happen does not occur, I don't think I got the rest of the 2,500 he promised although it says on text.

Ah well I will try to go talk to whoever it is standing outside because no one came to me.
Hope quest is still valid because I went out for a nice stroll & plundered 3 million :D

Edit: I reloaded old save file and even then there is no one coming outside to open dialog.
But even before that when you report to Contre Admiral, after dialog there is no "Quest update", which means from that point there is an error in continual of the questline.

@Tingyun or @imado552 or someone else, could you play this sidequest too and see if you have the same problem?
See the wiki article pieter posted to see how to start the sidequest etc.

Hi Levis, I'll be glad to assist with testing of course! It will probably be a couple of days (at the latest, the weekend) depending on what happens this week, but I will help look into this side quest soon.

Levis i did some testing and found some strange things happening first before you go to the smuggler house a man will speak to you in port not jetty!!!
-after you speak with contre admiral and you exit the town hall no one will speak to you only a far away member stuck at the tavern door with normal sailor clothes speaks to you while you are at the Town Hall door like screaming "Captain!!! , Yes Sailor!! , What is our plan ....ect XD)
- and you have no option to go by land only sea and no quest update and when you go to your ship and then to sea you will be stuck as if invincible enemy that can't attack nor be attacked is around you and you can't do anything that's my testing hope i got you everything!!!!

This sounds very bizarre. That quest worked fine last time I tested it.
I did make some further corrections afterwards but none that should cause tremendous weirdness.

How far do you get before things go awry?

as i remember i reached the governor hall and spoke to contre Admiral quest updated went out of the governor hall spoke to a member of crew who was stuck at the tavern door and i was at the door of the governor hall and he did spoke to me from that far!!!
i only got one option to chose prepare the sip we are going by sea and when i go to ship then sea nothing happen no sea travel or fast travel do i need to go manually but i can't even do anything no simple default option sails cannons etc ...

That all sounds fine.
Your target ship will be sailing somewhere around the island when you go to sea after that dialog.

but isn't weird that i can't chose any option like changing sails or cannons load ...ect i get that "X" red of nothing
so i think i will just need to sail there on my own and complete the quest i guess?

yes they do but you can't do anything you can only travel (its like when you can't do a thing when you get the notification something is going to happen here but which you don't get here)
maybe it will be resoolved when you go to the ship manually (but this mean you will need to check the map and know your way out!!

I recently played the "Vogelstruijs" side quest as well. As I recall, when I put to sea, the usual interface commands were unavailable, in particular "Sail To". When I'm doing a normal ship-hunting quest for a governor I can find the target by using "Sail To", it's usually the last ship on the list. Without that, I had to Direct Sail all the way around the island to find the Vogelstruijs. Fortunately the wind was fairly co-operative, but I suspect this quest will be a lot less fun if it's blowing from the east, straight into your face as you try to make your way from Port au Prince to Boca de Yuman.

Also, playing this side quest activated the "Smuggler's Life for Me" side quest. Can this please be removed? Partly because it was annoying to be stuck with a side quest I didn't want, and partly because it is highly illogical. Your job here is to kill a smuggler (and possibly his wife, depending on how that encounter goes), then destroy his ship - a smuggler's life is definitely not for you!

I should probably look up what it is that disables all those controls. Probably isn't quite necessary.

Does anyone have a save just prior to you getting the task to sink that ship?

I am not aware of any such deliberate link. So no, it can't be removed for the simple reason that it already isn't there. o_O
