Cheers,
well, after playing a while, I have some more questions.
Playing Spanish Main in Iron Man mode.
1) Island distances
They seem short. I sailed from Kralendijk at Bonaire to Sunny Hacen at Concepcion in about 10 hours. Speed was about 4-4 knots, which is not really fast.
I think even such short distance travels felt longer in 3.0.
2) Distance in that ships and islands appear
This seems to be much shorter, too.
Strange thing is ... I had Bonaire still well in sight when the "Land Ho" message for Conception appeared. I am very sure there has been an open sea part between in 3.0 where none of the islands has been visible. Very very sure.
Also, at land ho I had Conseption well in sight. I remember in 3.0 that has been not the case, at land ho message the island was very barely in sight if in sight at all.
Same goes for a fleet of ships that I encountered with the same land ho message: Well in sight and easily recognizable, not in firing range yet but much much closer than it has been in 3.0.
Question now is ... is this intentional, or not?
I am not yet sure which I'd liked more ... at the moment it's more unusual than disturbing.
Next question:
In case I don't like it, is there a way to change the distances?
Thanks,
Skyworm
