I tried it on a new game before installing that small fix, and again when starting another new game after installing the small fix. It worked the 2nd time.
Well, that worked properly in Beta 2.3 too. It's just the period change of the Standard storyline that caused an unintended side-effect that should now be rectified.
And I changed the code to work a bit more efficiently while I was at it. But it's nothing new.
well thats what happened to me, i should restest it in new version to be sure it works now
but most of my test will come later (i especially prefer straying at wip 7 - 8 to "wait" the new carribean map more fixed with the new location for mainland) so i make the full french translation and will just have to adapt for the lastest wip version (perhaps the "final" beta 3 will be out before)
i try to make teh trans. before august so i will have time to test and adapt to lastest version (so each time i want to play at the moment i just continue translation )
but im following a lot whats happening so i can keep in mind what to test later (and i keep in mind the online map i have to make of course but i will wait when new locations will be ready )

Right now, there are only two main issues with this that I am aware of:
- Reloads to islands confused, probably due to reload radius; Armada is working on this
- Cartagena mainland model 180 degrees the wrong way: easily avoided by not going there
If need be, I could upload a version without the new Worldmap. I'd like the other changes to be tested too.
I need confirmation that what I did actually has the intended effects.
Opening post updated again. Several fixes and Starting Nation now has an effect.

- Nation Relations after getting a Letter of Marque: check when rel <0, rel >0 and when leaving the service and coming back
- Soldiers with wrong nation-specific weapons
- Cursed Coins: Note anything that is odd about how the curse works and see if you can break the system in some way
- Music selection: Anything you like/don't like?
Also, the following still stand:
- Stuff that still needs updating for the new Worldmap
- Item availability: Better than before? Not so much?
- DOES your crew now use potions from the Weaponslocker???
- Crew Morale on different settings of Leadership/Iron Will, Food and Rum Rations and Salary vs. Divide the Plunder
- Alice Town Port and the entirety of Port au Prince (location ID search-and-replace could have caused weird stuff, though I didn't find any yet)

Goddamnit ! my harddrive disk seems to have a serious problem.. Im writing with an USB headed Linux version...
I was able to catch some of the most important programs (PotC was with it ) but I got some errors while copying (input/output error). I checked the file number, it seems PotC was saved completely. But just in case, is it possible to show missing files when I start the game?
Indeed if any code files are missing, then the game will not start. If texture or model files are missing, your log files will tell you.
Do you have access to the original game so you can reinstall if necessary?
What do you mean? Your personal flag gives you your OWN relations to the other nations.
However, if you for example start the game with nation Holland, then your own relations will be the same as the Dutch. Because you ARE Dutch.
So if you're trying to get into a port enemy to Holland, then you'll need to fly a fake flag.
If you want to be able to get in with your personal flag, you should become friendly with their nation first.
If you don't like starting out friendly/hostile to the same nations as your starting nation, the select the Personal Nation flag for game start.
That way, you'll be friendly with EVERYONE except the pirates.
Is any of that not doing what I describe? That is what is supposed to be happening,
but I can't check right now because my computer is doing a scan on viruses and is therefore dead slow right now.
exept of course some quest changing relation on purpose like in nataniel hawk storyline (french and british relation modification during main quest)
i never saw problem with personal flag (exept that if you have personal flag, on worldmap, you wont get any fleet chasing you but that was always that way, oh perhaps is there a way to activate that to personal nation ?)
