In B14 P1 I acquired a flat deck frigate yesterday. I have a very nice one in B13 F1 also. I have seen this particular ship before but never got it. I got this one from a pirate and it had no flags. This is important to me because if a ship has no flags, then there is probably something wrong with it. Like this ship won't go more than 3 knots even in a 26 knot tailwind, and that ship can go 11 knots in a 6 knot headwind, and t'other ship just won't turn, etc. Anyway, the first thing I noticed was that there was no deck crew, and all the cannons were below decks. Then I noticed that I could hardly move around at all. Bummer. Then I found that my spyglass no longer showed any information at all. We went to the closest port where it was sold. Later I bought one in a shipyard. It turned out to be the same flush deck frigate, but with flags. It has all of the same issues, so it must be intended to be like this. It sails and fights well; I even captured a 1st rate Man O War with it. Umm, not having any information at all makes it difficult to judge when to board another ship. I boarded that big mutha far too soon. Anyway, it is a very interesting ship but I much prefer the other one, at least until this one is finished. Haven't seen the other one yet tho.
I have found the flush deck frigates have no flags and the spyglasses don't work on them either.
Also since playing with patch, no governors will give me pirate hunting missions. Anyone else having that problem?
I have found the flush deck frigates have no flags and the spyglasses don't work on them either.
There are 6 models that are called "Flushdeck Frigate"
HMS_Suprise, FR_Bouselle, Lydia1, Lydia2, Lydia3, Lydia4
These models work properly:
HMS_Suprise
FR_Bouselle
These models have problems:
Lydia1
Lydia2
Lydia3
Lydia4
The spyglass problem affects ONLY the four "Lydia" models. And, I *THINK* it may be due to the *_path.gm files on those models. These are the geometry files that dictate how you are able to walk on deck (first person view) while sailing. As you've probably noticed, you can walk through the main mast, the stairs on the port and starboard don't function and the walk area generally doesn't match where you "should" be able to walk. Maybe we could get the original modder (Yo Ho Ho according to the ships_init.c comments) to take a look at it.
Also, I see a flag on ALL the models. However, I do not see PENNANTS or ENSIGNS, which I think is what you are referring to?

I'm getting them from all of the governors. Are your relations "Neutral" (-30) or better? If your relations with a nation are (-31) or worse, you won't be offered any pirate hunting missions. Try buying a LoM and then see if you get any missions from that nation.
