Build 14 Beta 1

The Lugger VML! It has a working compass you know, but it doesn't point North. Methinks it's about 30-40 degrees off. I found that out when I used it for navigation and ran into the wrong island completely. :8q
Just to clarify, I think the compass points in the direction that the wind is blowing. The part itself is a 'rey' model, and it secretly has a sail hidden below it... so it acts like the sails do.
As you said, it's a bit rubbish for navigation! xD:

yeah, but you shouldn't see it in the in game dialogue, which was happening here. I think this was an old issue from ages back(for this bit of his dialogue), but then again i might have added it to the file - the dialogue.h files for PotC combined with their .c files can make it really hard work to debug and correct them!!! You probably can guess how many times i've had to re-run sections of the game to see that these new files do what they should!!! ;)

But yeah if you have time run them through winmerge to compare with the current files, as that will highlight the changes i've made and you can decide which are good to go in the next patch etc. I'm 99% happy they are all good to go, but it's probably good to have a second eye run over them.

Light is to be installed on top of Patch 5, Full is to be installed on top of Build 14 Beta 1.
The Light version is just here for those who don't want to download a larger file than necessary.
 
Is this the first light patch you ever made? If not, I could have just downloaded the older light patches rather than all of the fulls. Once I download this, will all my older saves still be compatible? I know that patch 5 wasn't backwards compatible, but I don't know about this one.
 
I've made Light patches before, especially when the Full patches became rather large.
There was a b14_alpha8_light, , b14_alpha8-5_patch2_light, b14_alpha9_light and b14_alpha10_light .
But I don't want to make them if I can avoid it, because it does complicate matters.
And installing file upon file upon file IS just asking for trouble.
Because I can promise you people WILL do it wrong. :facepalm

And yes, a new game IS required. There's just too much new stuff.

i suppose i could go all frankenstein on the full update and plonk it on top of patch 4, but i'm not sure if it's a good idea. comparing the instllation methods though, it doesn't actually look like it would cause trouble.

Should work fine as long as you take the FULL version. :yes

I found one small error in the files, causing the HMS Surprise to not show her interface picture.
Easily fixed in RESOURCE\INI\INTERFACES\pictures.ini .
Find "RN_Surprise" and replace that with "HMS_Surprise".
 
And there was me thinking "He can't possibly have missed anything..." xD:
We'll need that notice posted on ModDB as well, before others notice it.
