Build 14 Alpha Work in Progress

well, i have seen it recently. for some reason, the game thought that the two satanist's ship wheren't there, with all the results, including that one when i boarded it. another result was that i was immediatly transported to greenford tavern instead of having to fight the ships first. i simply sunk them afterwards. i think this bug is linked to the resetting of silehard's dialogue. ( i haven't been able to do something about the new 'escape from oxbay' text yet, but i'll put up a new one soon)

Sorry guys <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> I found, why that happens. In LAi_character.c (LAi_KillCharacter) was added section marked [//MAXIMUS: stores attributes for characters, which can be reincarnated]. The same section must be added into LAi_utils.c (LAi_CheckKillCharacter). Don't forget [if(CORPSEMODE==4 && !CheckAttribute(chr,"storedAttributes"))]. Looks like this causes a "no_enable_reload_problem" on some boarding decks too.
By the way - I HAVE A BIGGEST IN MY LIFE troubles with internet connection. But I'm still working on BUILD <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I'll try to send you 6 new boarding decks (from released SLiB) - 3 single decks, and 3 double decks (Small vs. Middle, Small vs. Big, Middle vs. Big) with some code for adding these decks into the game by one switch. Good to see you lads here. I haven't been around at all for months but it's good to see that the Build is still improving. I haven't played in ages either but will have to get back into it, time permitting. Those additions and corrections sound great Maximus, so I'll have to get them from the ftp and start a new game. I think the lay off from POTC build will give me a nice fresh start again.

How goes your travels, Pieter?

I haven't a clue where to place this question, but here it is: Are there any ship models/textures for HMS Victory or other famous ships, and what are the best <u>free</u> programs for modding potc ( only textures and 3d models, i want to make some ships <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> )
 
Nice, Maximus. I can't download it though. 57 MB is just too much for me at the moment. If somebody could send it to me aboard the ship on a CD or something, that'd be great.
 
That big-ship model is the model which I skinned into the black pearl deck. I will put the resources up this week for ye.
 
Is it smarter if I download build 14.6 or just wait till build 14/15 is here without bugs and things

ps. with 14/15 I mean that I don´t know how it is called, cause your bussy with build 14.7 or 14.8 I figured it .... well screw it you know what I mean
 
build 14.7 is finished, only you need a fix otherwise you can't start up the game. I think IF pirate_kk is working on POTC, he is busy with 14.8

Build 14 Alpha 8. Calling it Build 14.8 suggests something that it isn't, namely a stable version even better than Build 14 final. Yet we are not even in beta stage for Build 14.
 
I just installed Build 14.7 + fix. Before, I installed 13 full + update 3.

Every time I press F1->OPTIONS, the game crashes - sorry to say guys <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
 
This happens because RESOURCE\INI\INTERFACES\option_screen.ini and RESOURCE\INI\NEW_INTERFACES\option_screen.ini are the Alpha 8 versions and not the Alpha 7 versions. Run the Alpha 7 installer again, then when you install the fixes, DON'T extract these two files. See if that does any good.
 
Are there more than 1 fix for Alpha 7? I can only find the one replacing PROGRAM\global.c and sound.h..

EDIT: Sorry forget it - I started from scratch, installed Build 12 Full, build Base_13 and build 13 Full, Update 3 and Build 13 Update 3 Full, Build 14 alpha 6, ran the installer "Build 14a7.exe", installed "Fix 14a7" and found a file called billion_fixes [04.09.07] in the Maximus library on the FTP, which covers the above mentioned issue.

However, the game now halts when the boatswain asks me what skills I am most interested in achieving at the opening scene in the cabin (game start)
The dialog won´t close.

Maybe a natural talent for testing runs in my DNA? - I encounter every single bug in every build by accident <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

EDIT: Argh, what a scurvyy landlubber I am - found another thread where Pieter is explaining the files needed for testing on the FTP. Again, sorry...
