They called them new versions, or new games ... but the weaknesses of the originals pretty much forced fans to get the new version.

And we wonder where they got their information about the world of piracy....
 
alright but what about the bug I got in my Build14Alpha8v1 (damn this gets LONGER and LONGER to type). You know.. when I did a new game, all was in code. I mean, there was the Sit 1, get 2,3 etc. and even the Officer 1, Officer 2 next to the gates. Is there anyone that has the same bug? or ,at least, know a fix? tnx mates.

IronHook, find the POTC\Program\InternalSettings.h file

At or near the bottom of that file you find <!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->#define VISIBLE_LOCATORS    1<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
Change that value to Zero.

Well that one wasn't actually a bug. It's a modders tool.

It let's use see where certain things happen, like where crew stand at reload.

Also let's us see exactly which reloads (listed in code) turn up where.


Pieter forgot to turn if of by default in the InternalSettings.h file.

damn.. it may be nothing but, have you guyz changed the Starting Ships file location? I mean: normally, to make a ship you want, you starting one you just go to InternalSettings on the line :

But, as it turns out, this isn't working, I've tried the FlyingDutchman, the cursed pirate corvette(from Cylon13) and my battleship (Battleship1_55). Still, it don't work.. what should I do?

This should work just fine in anything up to Alpha 7. In the Alpha 8 WIP versions this doesn't work anymore, but it should in any of the playable game versions.
 
lol the whole topic is about build 14 aplha 8 wip 1 .... so yea I am using that.. so there isn't no fix? .. damn.. we can't release it without a fix to that, alot of people will be disappointed.

EDIT: cuz they wont be able to cheat anymore.. well for the ships. and for the modders, that won't be easy to test with, if you make a new ship, you got to ENCOUNTER it or to BUY it in a pirate shipyard, that takes time (to find it i mean) but anyway, besides that and the loooooooooooooong loading when you press F1 or F2 or when you loot, it's not so unstable, I say it is better that aplha 7 ...
 
heck, it's not even supposed to be for regular players, so that's no problem at all that there isn't a fix for it yet. it's called alpha after all. still, it has to be fixed in the future, of course.
