Build 14 Alpha 8 WIP 1

I'm going to try Alpha 8 WIP 1 again as well and see if the problem IS in there. If not, I'm going to try and reset the WIP 1 code in my own game version. I do want to release WIP 2 soon, but I would prefer to do so after we managed to get rid of some of the most annoying bugs. And I want to finish some of my own work things first, most notably the ship nation assignment. But perhaps I should first release WIP 2 and then continue my work. Not sure what to do. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Did anybody who installed Alpha 8 WIP 1 try the Capture Colonies mod?

But it rather depends on whether Pirate_KK and Maximus manage to upload their work and we manage to compile it all together. We've got some challenges compiling it all together right now, because Maximus and Pirate_KK have different ideas on how to get the Real Caribbean mod working. That's the mod that will rename all stock game islands and towns to more realistic ones.

I reinstalled Build14A8WIP over Build14A6 and it's much more stable that over Build14A7...

Still now the only bug I've found is during boarding, some time remained a ghost enemy that I can't win and continue with boarding.

Another problem is that advanced option have no effect with coorpse mode, ever corpsmode=4 is set.

Another note:
With Build14A8WIP all sound trouble are gone, everywhing working fine, also cannon sound.
I try to add the "FOR_PIETER AND_KK_26.11.2007" material and all sound problem are still there, so be warned.

Huh? Sound problem wasn't there in Alpha 6, was there in Alpha 7, wasn't there in Alpha 8 WIP 1 and was there in Pirate_KK's latest files? Really weird. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I found the source of sound problem!
For some reasone the new "FOR_PIETER AND_KK_26.11.2007\RESOURCE\INI\ALIASES\sound_alias.ini" is whitout the "SEA BATTLE" session that is in the Build14A8WIP.

Problem loading page. The connection has timed out.

It just hates that I'm in China. The build alphas off of your page worked fine, as do most of the major fileshare networks ... but occasionally you get one that hangs like that.
 
I'm sorry about that. Nothing much I can do about it right now. Takes forever to upload, so I'm going to wait with reuploading until the PROPER Alpha 8 is done. While testing the mod of CotBP 1-2-3 (Build14A8WIP1) I got to the point of leaving Redmond with Will after the swordfight and prison escape. Got to the harbour, boarded the Interceptor and put to sea...
As it happened the French were attacking the Fort... the French won and the Fort surrendered. Never saw that before.
Needless to say, I couldn't get out of the harbour after that as the French fleet was too strong.

You can't fix this problem. It's made like that. I can't really explain this but I had the same problem when I tried to download a multiplayer game. There was my problem: The game was compressed by winrar, nothing special about it. I was able to <b>PLAY</b> the game but not to <b>DOWNLOAD</b> it. I tried to download it and I was never able to. It was a DDL (direct download link). After my friend came back from bulgaria, he had the game downloaded THERE and burnt on a cd, then I was able to play it. But still now, I can't download it (btw, I come from Bulgaria). Well, what I suggest you, Ron Losey, is to try to get it by the FTP wich can be found on <a href="http://www.s31clan.com/privateftps/pietersmods/" target="_blank"> Pieter's</a> site. Ahh! I had that problem on Alpha 7 and I was wondering what it was, I think I posted it somewhere. lol, here's the problem then.. alright. Hey, guyz, before we actually RELEASE PotC : New Horizons , wouldn't it be better to get the build more stable? Because noone would like to play a game, even if it's the most interesting of the world, with a 99% bugs.. I know that we are already searching the bugs in the games and fixing them, but what I say is that we should wait a bit, not rush and release it at a more stable version.

EDIT: also, I'm not sure wich files to run first and which last.. I downloaded b14alpha8wip1 from the FTP comander. I have already build14A7 installed properly.

It would only be in the true spirit of piracy to SELL the most bugged game in history ... and then require players to pay for the upgrade ... which would patch many of those bugs, but add a bunch of new ones.

Oh, wait ... the original releases of POTC and AoP did that too.
