B14 troubles

Instructions are on the first page of that thread.

Once again: since I have not seen that bug, I can not attempt to fix it, therefore nothing addressing it is in that update, nor is there likely to be anything for it in any subsequent update. You should try Build 15, which has its own problems as it is still a work in progress but which may be more stable on your computer.

Masts were vulnerable to being shot away on real sailing ships, so that feature is likely to remain. You may be able to reduce the frequency of masts being shot away by editing "PROGRAM\InternalSettings.h". Look for any settings relating to masts, including:
. Everything in the '// Amount added to mast damage when mast hit by the following things' section
. GCMASTCRIT
. CMASTCRIT
. MASTCRIT
. TMSAILCRIT

Note that "InternalSettings.h" is overwritten by updates because it includes new settings which were not present in the January 2022 installer. So if you make changes to your own version, you will need to make them again each time you install an update. A useful tool for comparing changes between files is WinMerge:
WinMerge - You will see the difference…

GR... how about a set of installation instructions? Been a long while since I did and while I have the individual modules I still need refresh on the step process to a good install. Directions to find that info would be appreciated. As is, I'm only running 18-2 (Dec 2019) at this time since the v24 even the Brit variant is so buggy it's frustrating and playing havoc with my blood pressure, which has got my VA Doc concerned.

Any Geek do an American language translation for this MS Gobbledygook?
Why MS doesn't use the native language to tell the customer what the problem is shows just how arrogant MS is! That's the problem with dealing with monopolies... which are supposed to be illegal?( Maybe Der Fuhrer Trump will fix this... along with the Democratic Government?

Yes, it is shown as using HTTPS now.

I'm not a fan of any politician. Please do not make insinuations. With "crap" I am referring to that this situation keeps going on without any resolution.

If you are so competent in following instructions and writing, why don't you follow an instruction to not make multiple posts right after each other in the same thread? Is it not a part of the Coast Guard to follow orders even when one does not agree with them?

As a staff member I have to keep an eye on what members do. If you don't follow forum etiquette then don't post. You either follow the rules and guidelines of an establishment or you're not allowed access. These are not my rules, I am merely saying how it is.

Then I suggest you make backups on external drives before reinstalling. Then you won't lose anything and can restore from backup later.

He said he did nothing to it. There was never a link to the latest update ZIP file on ModDB as shown by the post history log.

It's not about being infected with a virus or malware, it's about not being properly configured.

A clone is only to be used with identical hardware and firmware.

In the end as I've already said you are free to keep on in your own way, but you must follow forum etiquette when you do so.
It's fine if you don't want to follow my suggestion regarding your computer - this you are free to do.
You shall not make separate posts right after each other in the same thread - this you are not free to do.
I'm not making the rules, I'm just informing you of them.
Although I said I wouldn't tell you again I reconsidered and decided to attempt one more time with a diplomatic approach rather than an adversarial one.

There is nothing anyone here can say that will help you. You are thus wasting your time by trying to get help with something when no one will be able to help.

Furthermore some others have speculated that you are in fact just a so-called troll trying to elicit a response and that we should simply not interact with you. Now, I have been more lenient and have tried to defuse the situation, because I got the impression that because you mentioned being retired you are an elderly player and not very knowledgeable about the subject and not necessarily a troll, but the fact of the matter remains that no one will be able to help you in your preferred way and there is no point in continuing to post about the problems, and if you keep on not following proper posting procedure then you will not be allowed to post.

With a wish for peace, do as you please, stay civil, and don't make multiple posts right after each other.
Different topics need individual attention, a quality of professional writers that is necessary and not appreciated. If i need to add info or make changes due to updates I will edit the message as long as it's relevant. A change of subject requires a change in context... basic English Comp 101...?

I approach you as the de facto expert on the subject... assisting others in problem solving is my profession, do you do likewise? i find it very satisfying helping others overcome issues and obstacles to a desired goal or outcome. I wish all shared this trait, but this is not that kind of world.
