I was literally walking thru walls here and there and everytime I tried the quick-arm function there was a message saying the french where coming, and several french soldiers spawned out of nothing infront of me. It was hell.
Maybe that was because I was using BUILD14alpha8. Should I have stopped at BUILD13 perhaps..?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Build 14 Alpha 8 is not the best place to start. Indeed hat DOES contain a lot of known bugs and is only meant for development purposes.
That's why it's called "alpha". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
However, the particular bugs you refer to do not sound like real problems.
The walk-through walls are a by-product of the BuildingSet mod that allows you to erect buildings ingame.
This mod, however, is coded rather oddly (wouldn't work otherwise), which causes the issue that you can walk through those buildings.
It can easily be turned off though; in Alpha 8 you can do so through the Options>Advanced Options menu and in earlier Build editions, you can do so in BuildSettings.h.
Also the sidestep feature is a simple horizontal teleport that we have been unable to give collision detection.
Therefore you can also sidestep through walls and into nothingness. It's up to the user to make normal use of that feature.
As for the French attack when pressing the Quick-Equip button, it sounds to me like two functions got assigned to the same button.
Try resetting your controls to default and see if that solves anything.
The reason for the French attack button is just for fun. It's supposed to be Numpad 0 and you don't need to press it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Looks to me like some files are located here and there in 300post threads round about.
Looking for certain files in this forum is like searching for a needle in a haystack. No offence as I'm very happy this forum exists.
I'd be very happy if there's like this simple solution that I've completely missed, and I'm now making a complete arse of myself with this request.
Please let it be so.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->That's indeed a major problem on the forum, especially when it comes to non-PotC mods.
Personally I only stick to PotC and things are fairly easy to find on the PotC forums.
Not so on others though. However, I made a seperate SoFS forum a couple of days ago as Damski already pointed out.
Over the coming while members kopcar and Cap'n_Drow will probably be making some stickies to help new members figure things out.
