Re: parrot. Oh, absolutely, everyone's welcome!
(And those who model, you're welcome to do what you like with the mesh as well. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )
Updated the file ( still Parrot.zip ) in the FTP as follows:
Added parrot09.max (the mesh, for those who have max)
Added P_bodyU.tga, wingU, legU, and clawU (unwrapped UVWs for each texture--since wingB and wingT have the same mapping, there's only one unwrapped file).
Wing is planar from the top (with the wing extended); mirrored on the right side.
Leg and claw are cylindrical* (each claw is individually cylindrical). Sadly these aren't terribly distinct.
Body is cylindrical too; the center of the file is the back, the edges the front. When painting the front, you may wish to use an offset tool to move the texture 128 pixels right (or left) to make the front be the front to ease painting it. Just remember to offset it back to normal at the end.
*By this I mean the texture image is wrapped like a sheet around the object. It's rather like a whatsit (Mercator?) projection of the globe.
