That's my "Lohengrin". On that note: Johann Jakob Christoffel von Grimmelshausen is actually a historical person, though not a pirate, but -at least he got famous by that- a writer. He was born about 1622 in Gehlnhausen, Hessen, as the son of a baker and innkeeper and became a mercenary at the age of thirteen. He served in a number of battles and armies during the whole Thirty Years War. Though it´s obscure when and where he learned writing, he advanced to the post of regimental writer. After the end of the War he became steward on different manors, where he wrote his books, the most famous of which is the "Simplicissimus", having large parts of a biography of Grimmelshausen. He died on 17.8.1676.
I´ve chosen him as my Alter Ego, because he´s an interesting personality and I had to do a paper on him while at school. As well, he had the pseudonyme "The Hunter of Soest", which is my home town.

Sory I dont have any screenies, but I like a Man 'O War Spanish Design, With 12lbs Culverine. Who needs major powered shots when you can blow your enemies to sleep with the fishes before they even touch you. Its also perfect for attacking Oxbay fort when its invincible. The only money you spend is on shots...

My character is a Redcoat with a beard, short brown hair, or an Animist. The sword is currently a squall, because I cant find any better, Im hardly even off of Oxbay yet! If I could get the best swords, mine would be a balanced one, V good block, Good Piercing (Is that just going through someone else's block?) and Good Attack.

Well, I cant say that Id pass up this sword though!

What officer skins are there. Not the officers that follow you around, but army officers for each of the nations. Theres the French one, like in v_Grimmelshausen's pic, the Brittish one in the prison, but what about the rest. I think the dutch one has some sort of brimmed hat with a feather, but I dont know. Screenies of them would be nice.

Harduin Aufort, a guy that was aimlessly wandering arounf FdF, was made useful by Catalina in the Fred Bob Quest, because he is the captain of the guard. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> All the dualogues for the FBQ are extremely good. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
Faliase De Fleur is a weird place, like a major battlefield with me! Theres my officers vs The Town Guard vs Street Bandits vs Civilians with swords vs Civilians with swords that accidentaly hit another civilian. I sometimes dont get hurt too badly, beacause everyone else is either dead or fighting someone else. I put myself back on the easy level just to get past it, and most of the time I lose most of my health anyway. To give proper (or <i>improper,</i> ha!) credit where credit is due, that snippet actually was because of something SirChristopherMings suggested, and I put it into action via Fred Bob's approval and subsequent "translation"...

Fred Bob helped me with the translation of his character dialog into "Fred Bob-speak" - and did an excellent job, too! It sure adds to the flavor of the quest, and I love it!

I am glad you are enjoying the Fred Bob quest. I'm currently sailing in my Xebec CT, which has a Celtic theme- and this time I've named her Granuaille - after Grace O'Malley, Ireland's Pirate Queen.
