The Flying Dutchman...

Regarding size of the <i>Dutchman</i>, if I read official blueprints correctly, the <i>Dutchman</i>s length at the waterline is 125% of the <i>Black Pearl</i> length at the waterline.

seems like a good guideline to me. as long as the other proportions of the ship are right, it should turn out ok when the waterline is sized up properly. and the proportions DO seem right.

i am very sory, but i can't work on the dutchman until monday.. Iv'e going on a small holiday...

but i have bin adding some small stuff/detales on the dutchman on the deck.... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Good. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> We can wait with masterpiece work getting done. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

//by the way, is it any more stuff there should be on the deck?

you're the one with the pictures. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

He mean't that you have a picture posted in this thread where Dutchmans upper deck is shown. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

model them, i guess. or just partially leave them off. adding all of them might be a bit too much polys.

..For our liking. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Who's forgetting the Black Pearl? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

it's damn high-poly, that's what i mean. but it doesn't generate that much lag nonetheless, which is worth of respect.

In that case it isn't damn high-poly. There's a difference between looking detailed and being high-poly. A good model looks detailed, yet is not high-poly.

true. hence the absence of lag. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Ye just stepped into the crap where people usually will do this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> Morgan. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/user_comment.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="user_comment.gif" />

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I have a question. How are you going to make all of the spikes and mutations of the ship?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

YEah? i will model those on the ship.... NO dutchman without spikes xD

and i am realy sory, i said i would start with it but i couldn't.. iv'e bin lain in my bed and bin ill for 3 days <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Don't model TOO much detail. If you go over-the-top in modeling detail, the ship will be be very harsh on people's computers. Preferably use textures instead of polygons as much as possible and leave off unnecessary details, such as an abundance of spikes.

Just don't confuse spikes with pikes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />
