I am another that will not be signing up for a monthly fee online game. Not only cannot I not afford it, (disabled Vet living on very meager disability from VA) but I want to be able to do what I want when I want and work on my own thing. I also do not want to be tied to the requirement of having an internet connection just to play.

If popularity continues with mmorpg type systems, there will be a day soon where development and release of software for PC's pretty much stops. Why develop something for the PC that will just get pirated anyhow, when you can create your game and require millions to not only buy the software but pay you every month just for the right to play the software they already bought!

Mark my words.. it is coming and the more support the mmorpg's get, the faster that day will arrive.

I would MUCH prefer to play this game as single player on my own. It is too bad I will not be able to do so. Would love to see a single player pirate game with this much detail.

I won't be playing either due to my usual lack of time. Not to mention the game doesn't sound too good and it seems like its ridiculously expensive to play those kind of games. Not that I have a lack of money, but I'd rather not spend my money on this one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

This survey was started over a year ago when expectations were high and price wasn't a factor.
As it is, from a Pirate game fan community, those numbers are really poor for this game.

I'd bet if it was reset and started today, many of the "Don't know yet" and "Yes" would move over to the "No" side.

Apparently even a year ago people weren't very interested. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

What are the payment plans? Is it still $15 a month? I've been looking around, and this information seems well hidden.

Yep..15 buck in the US....and worth every penny...Last night myself and 5 other mates took on a three hour mission. First taking out a convoy of 9...then some swashbucklin in a fort...back to the sea to take out aprrox. 40 ships in groups of 9. More swashbucklin. Then......get this, after 2 1/2 hours the fnal battle.......63 ships v.s 6 of us...not in group of 9 but all at once...arrrr!!!!..now thats priceless !

I know I sound stupid for asking, but what's potBS? :shrug:facepalm

I just noticed in the previous posts on this topic that potBS costs 15 dollars a month :shock, if I was going to spend that much on a game, I would be looking at a lot bigger and better games then that :sail (not WOW if that's what you think I'm referencing, I've actually tried that but gave up after my account got hacked for the third time :facepalm)

I informed myself and found out that you have to pay monthly only if you want the Captain's Club membership, which really, for the most players, won't add that much things. Hey @tommy61157 do you recommend WoW?

No, it costs too much money and it gets hacked too often :no, a great alternative though is perfect world international, look it up :mm
