Quite Right Cpt Fabris: I went looking later and found those in that file.....is that the only master list of all models used or just the ones for the shops??

By the way, this should have worked...did you use new models that are compatable with the newest build or older models from, JMV & JD cause JD just had to redo these to make them compatable fairly recently?

I'm pretty sure of that...

Think I might have figured it out... the redmond.c init file I edited was the in the main Program\Characters\ directory, but there's another redmond.c (and all the other island character init files) in the language sub-directory:

Program\Characters\English\Init\redmond.c

I imagine if I change the values in this file it will have the desired effect. Another quirk of the build12 installation I think, the duplicated files. I'll have a look later.

Ok no joy there either. Actually that shouldn't have worked since the includes in characterinit is reading the main characters\init\ directory only. Well I'm stumped. No idea why this doesn't work.
 
Changes to the character init files only take effect when starting a new game.

The files in the ENGLISH subdirectory are NOT used.

The GM Viewer will show you all skins. The filenames are the names you should use in the character init files. The most extensive list of character models is in PROGRAM\MODELS\initModels.c.
 
I have pirated (no pun intended) the silver and gold from Jacks's cool mod (great pictures btw) and have them currently set as contraband everywhere so only pirates and smugglers will deal with them. I was hoping they'd appear as regular cargo once in a while and goody goody for you if you find some but that doesn't seem to happen, least not so far.

My next idea is to make a mission (experimenting with mission making now) where a pirate lets you in on a deal where a Spannish treasure fleet is known to be leaving Isla Muelle at a certain time and you team up to take them.

Pieter, I have downloaded off the FTP site, the Jack Davidson mod here, and installed it....playing last night the game I have been trying to nurse along after you found the CTD's but still complete with the crew loss problems plus others, I noticed my inventory/contraband/islands trade book was all messed up....some Islands had no picture of the physical Island itself.....some had no contraband at all, and some had well.....some and others some of some and some of none at all....

Err......am I somming it all up for you!!!!

In order for this new contraband, island trading stuff to take effect, can I just Initalize or do I need brand new start.....AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
 
I don't really know what you'll need to do. At least try a reinitialize and see if that does any good. I will make a new modpack version today that, hopefully, will work stable, even if it doesn't include all recent mods. I personally have seen no weirdness in the Tradebook interface last time I looked... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
