some seriously annoying bugs for post build 12 modpack

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />
ive found some bugs in the modpack that are very annoying, and i was wondering if pieter boelen or someone else who knew the postbuild 12 modpack inside and out could look into it[ p.s: sorry if i sound bossy, i have a tendancy to be very straight forward about things ]
here goes:

1- when sailing in see battle mode, the music cuts out after about 5 seconds and doesn't come back on until the next battle and again cuts out after about 5 seconds, it rarely goes through to the end of the song.

2- some islands [like Guadaloupe and Antigua] crash the game when you switch to sea battle mode.

i know that they seem small but they really annoy me and im hoping that someone knows a solution to the problem, especially the music problem[ i have the potc movie music just incase that has an affect on it, but i doubt it!]

3- the crew members in crew's quarters are floating above the chairs and table

1 - There seems to be something wrong with the music and I really don't know why. I personally always play without ingame music (I have the Windows Media Player playing music in the background), but can imagine it's really annoying. Unfortunately I don't know anything about that particular coding so I can't change it.

2 - Those are known bugs. Screwface will try to fix them, but we don't know when or if he'll manage.

3 - I noticed that myself as well. Looks rather ridiculous. I reckon Screwface will have it fixed soon.

bloody bugs

crashes when i get to guadaloupe

and guess where my lost treasure is i have to find

YEP guadaloupe, bugger

anyone know if a bugfix is around yet.?????

I haven't got the slightest idea, really. I hope Screwface is still working on making a new update. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

@Lord Nelson
Did you have fired your cannons and hit the enemy ship before the music cut off? Or cut the music off without hitting something?

I have the same problem that the music cuts off sometimes and I've noticed that the music cut off when enemy ships using the "fire drill" to extinguish a burning fire.
When I disable the fire drill MOD, the music plays properly.
But it is a little pity to disable that great MOD. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

An early version of the Firedrill mod paused ALL sounds, but NK fixed that some time ago. Just checked again and music and sound play on if I perform firedrill <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Though I didn't check what happens if ENEMIES extinguish fires. If that is in fact the problem I could write a fix that plays the firedrill related sounds only for the player.
Maybe the authors of the recent sound and music mods know more about such things.

BTW: Does your Sea_ai\AIShip.c file have the date 24.oct.05 ?

I'm still working on new update pieter but at this time i encounter some difficulties to fix some bugs (THE BUG OF GUADELOUPE AND ANTIGUA <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> ) and i'm waiting after the alan smithee's modified locations to continue the archipelago expansion. I could put a little update on the ftp with my new "crewmembers on shore" mod but if i do that all the people who would like to install this update will be "forced" to start a new game again (because of the declaration of new variables in globals.c and new characters addition) so i think it should be better to wait a little and let people play with the current update, no ?

The next modpack update will contain some stuff that will make a restart nescessary anyway. Because we have run out in the max number of models, we have to increase a certain define that can only be done on a restart. So please make a small release with as much in it as you can. I wil then work it into the next update. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

"annoying bugs" ?

I guess I'll post it here as it seems no one is looking at "Post B12 bugs" topic

1. The bow guns on the Brigs don't work!

2. Another bug I've noticed is that looting the dead does not work in:
a. Oxbay canyon when entered from the mines ...
b. Labyrinth under Abbey when entered from Oxbay caves.

I did look at the Post B12 Bugs topic and saw your reported bug. I didn't reply, because I just don't know what to do about it. I'm feeling more and more useless with each passing day. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Petros <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> , did you press the dialog key but nothing happened? Did you try to talk to someone "normally"? I think I am on the track of that bug(see dialogDisable thread). Noticed it during my Abbey rewriting, but I didn't know that other locations have that as well. Interesting!

Pieter <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> , I have an update pack with several bugfixes and a lot of action for Greenford abbey almost ready. I'll mail it to you by Sunday, or inform you if it's not completed then.

If you exchange that file with this one the firedrill effects will play on the playership only. (Unrar AND unzip it) Could you try if that fixes the soundproblems?

Interesting thing about the canyon is that you can enter it from several locations; town, lighthouse, and even Eng Officer's hut and have no problem looting.

It is only when you come straight from the mine that the dialog keys (spacebar or "O") do not work to loot.

I haven't tried talking to the guards though.

I have the July 22, 2005 file so I guess I'll not be able to test this as it just crashes at startup.

I can't start POTC with this file. It crash on startup screen with the following error message.

"Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Libary

I shall be greatly looking forward to it. I hope you will be able to get it to me a bit early on. Then I can add it into the modpack Sunday. Otherwise I'll have to wait until Monday and I'm not sure I'll have quite as much time Monday. Maybe I should then wait until tomorrow with releasing a new modpack release? I have one about ready for upload. Seems to work reasonably well. Few bugs fixed and some nice new stuff. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Which ones?

Has anyone fixed the Tailor bug, which I might add, is extremely annoying?

You know, the bug where your officers change back to their original skin every time you exchange items with them?

Nope; not fixed yet. Don't know how to either. Wished I did; it <i>is</i> ruddy annoying. Please check the Post Build 12 thread for a list of the changes in the not-yet-released new update.
