Sloop, Brigantine, or Frigate?

Depends on your pirating style, if you like pulling up alongside and exchanging cannonballs (then the biggest frigate), or dodging around using finesse to wear down the enemy (then the sloops/pinnaces). Personally I prefer the smaller ships as its more challenging, and travelling on the main map takes less time. I then take a galleon or indiaman if I want to hoard goods for sale.

Kind of hard to answer. Typically I like the small ships as I like to dodge enemy salvos and pick them apart. But the large frgate is great for quickly destroying ships and going on city sacking binges. My favorite ship is the Royal Sloop.
 
Royal sloop, fully fitted, is my favourite. I sell away frigates and all the other ships when I encounter them... At best, I've had four royal sloops in my fleet, two of them fully fitted and others just as carry'ons.

And the ship's superior agility is the reason for my choice...
 
My favorite three are:

1) Large Frigate
2) Brig of War
3) Royal sloop


If i get my hands on a Brig of War i can take on anything...thats how i got my paws on Henry Morgan's Large Frigate also lol. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
 
Large Frigate Is definitely my favorite. Sort of persuading Mr. Morgan to hand over his pink slip for it! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" /> , I can't quite remember what i used to take him down though, i think it was a war galleon which was like sailing a square nosed row boat god wa sit slow. i never even had to duel him i jsut went straight in with chain shot took out his sails, then zig zagged back and forth raking him with grape shot till his crew was like 25 to my 250 white flag goes up i win! now his large frigate is conquering the spanish main

IS there any other ship thats as fast as the snoop royal? ive tried morgans frigate and its still too slow if we had a turbo mod then that would help

I like the large frigate Most often times I can kill another ships sails in 1 or 2 salvos. Yes with reefing my sails I can dodge cannon fire also. It is also much more forgiving, if I screw up it can take a heck of a pounding. Call it insurance

what it lacks in overall speed, it makes up for in firepower and versatile sailing qualities. It has good speed regardless of wind direction, unlike a galleon or frigate who are a bit more picky about the wind direction.
 
Brig of War and the Royal Sloop are very similar. I think the Brig of war carries 28 guns vs. 20 for the Royal. Sloop is quicker. Sloop is probably better, but it depends on the pilot.

In reality the SOTL or the Large Frigate would kill a sloop...even a royal one.

My favorite is the classic frigate or the sloop of war.
 
I grew very fond of Henry Morgans Frigate and our exploits but I find when push comes to shove, and my crew is mutinous through so long at sea, I normally keep my souped up Sloop. Outmaneovring and leaving your enemy defenseless, then crewless, has its strange charms <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
