<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> Very nice patrol RLB, still work'n on hitting 150K as soon as I get back to play'n SH3 wich will be soon. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Guys, check out this 3D model sub over at Subsim, Detail is incredible, I'd luv to have this sub in game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

been sneaking around in Portsmith for the last few days.

Jump the 2 nets at the neck entrance and its like shooting fish in a barrel.
So cramped in there that the partrol DDs keep running into things so you can even decide to plink them too, or just sink the tanker after tanker after tanker. Just remember to wave at the JU88s overhead. Nice party.

Getting out is gonna be fun, broad daylight and all the defenders are taking a swim.

seems there are no nets over the neck, just shallow waters.

so
3 tankers (2 med + 1 small)
2 merchants (med + large)
3 van DDs
littering Portsmith
and just for fun,
lots of Air Raids by Ju88s all day long.

RLB and mates ,check out this preview of Silent Hunter 4, Amazing graphics and better crew management,,am looking forward to play'n this beauty, What I really like is the developers UBisoft said it will be as moddable as SH3 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> Finaly A Developer who cares about fans and modding. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

That video looks pretty good, quite funny how the guy launched so many fish and only got 1 hit by the middle of the video. Though the damage looks great, the ships have holes now! lol

Aye mate, many improved features, I like the crew screenies,they do look good, The modders over at Subsim will be look'N forward to modding this game. In the meantime looks like GWX mod should be released around mid december. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

GWX the expanded Grey Wolves free Expansion is almost out!

From what Iv'e read,this should be an awsome mod and a must have. Friend of mine just bought SH3 and has been playing solid for three weeks, his wife want to shoot me and divorce him <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

GWX the expanded Grey Wolves free Expansion for Silent Hunter III is out!

they have just released the <a href="http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=102096" target="_blank">Entire GWX.</a>.

General GWX <a href="http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/TGW/news.html" target="_blank">information</a>.

Yarrrr! RLB nice screeny , downloaded GWX yesterday from Game Shadow, 25 minutes to download single file and I must say very impressive mod, the best so far <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> although didn't care for new real world fatigue, you can have a full crew in any compartment and no red exclamation mark over them, but if their resilence is not high enough,that compartment will not function, so ended up look'n for crew members rested enough to replace semi fatigued crew members, bah! to much babysitting. maybe I'm missing something, however I changed fatigue back to no fatigue mod and that works better for me .Sailing through the Kiel Canal with Gramaphone play'n was a pleasurable experience. GWX is a must have mod <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Fatigue -> use higher time compression
And if they are tired enough you still get the red !

But as you may not notice at first,
special torpedo targeting has been lost due to program error.
but the special zones still function if you manage to hit them.

GWX awards more tonnage sunk than identified.

Fuel evaporates in rough seas

But on the bright side

last night's patrol in a Type IID (only has 6 torpedoes)
<img src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/rupertlittlebear/duck1.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

and my favorite funny from GWX, the super mod with super everything
here is the super fog
<img src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/rupertlittlebear/storm1.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
In case you don't get the joke
read the game supplied caption.

Holy crap! thats a lot O' tonnage fer a Type 11A <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Using high compression isn't supposed to make crew tire faster supposebly???. Had a full crew in Bow torp compartment, no red ! on any of them but the green bar barely registerd, checked some crew stats to find their resilence level was low,spent 5 minutes finding crew rested enough to replace them, finaly green bar registerd higher with replacements and was able to load y last 3 bow torps on a type 11A and missed a golden opportunity.
Apparently a doctor in compartment with them helps, also placing overflow crew into less stress areas like engine room is supposed to help <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> seems like more managing of crew than stock game, Bah! ain't my job <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->You gotta listen to the undertow of complaints about GWX.

People are beginning to grumble about
10,000,000,000,000,000,000 % reality doesn't mean that the captain
does every job on the boat.

Compression 64+ means no fatigue is changed.
Load from the map screen. You can get higher compression.

People are even beginning to figure you how to set fatigue through SH3 Commander.

Many people are working in SH3 Commander to bypass the <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/slap.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":slap" border="0" alt="slap.gif" /> of GWX

Aye that'd be about the size of it, I hope GWX team will make adjustments, pretty tuff for a newb to play GWX the way it is .

Had a copy of the old no fatigue mod,so pasted only relevant code into GWX crew fatigue code,when i compared the two, it was bumped up quite a bit, now no probs, have more time to sit on my bunk an drink rum an listen to gramophone <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Sorry to have to be the one to tell you this, but

the entire GWX philosophy is

<!--coloro:#CC0000--><span style="color:#CC0000"><!--/coloro-->"Play it our way or bugger off and die."<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

so your dream of a playable GWX is clearly a NFW.

However, if you wait for modders to fix the problems
it will be a good game. But remember that GWX <!--coloro:#CC0000--><span style="color:#CC0000"><!--/coloro-->will crucify<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> any
person with the guts to touch their product.

P.S. consider making your new "screw the fatigue" mod into a pure mod and uploading it.

heh! to late RLB already changed Fatigue and will also change ship damage in Zone config. to a more balanced, I want my Deck Gun Damage back also <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
As far as GWX crucify'n me, whatta they gonna do, beat me up <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Will consider that, after making all changes for Fatigue, Ship Damage, and see what changes GWX does if any, I'm sure there will be more updates for other bugs. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

But they have made an initial patch, its not on their official page, but hidden in other forums.

Aye RLB,updated my game,there's supposed to be another one around end of January <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

After play'n around with some new single missions started a campaign with the 2nd Foitilla based out of Lorent 1941 with a type IXB. To my pleasant suprise I ran into no less than 6 Large convoys and a task force in BF quadrant.
My first encounter was a task force and a Large convoy going in opposite directions from each other and about 50 KM apart <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> Opted to go for convoy as it probly be more lucrative for tonnage and glad I did.
Following behind convoy another large convoy appears on Nav. map is headed in my direction.Sunk Large Tanker, 2 x Large Merchant, Pyro Ammunition ship, for a total around 45K tons and twelve torps left for second convoy approaching, The weather was horrendous, large waves, high winds,and heavy rain made havoc for contacts, but used to your advantage, conceals your Uboat from enemy.

Pic of two Large convoys
[attachmentid=791]

Unfortunatly the time it took to battle with first convoy, lost contact with second convoy, not wanting to waste precious fuel, made way for assigned patrol grid where I made contact with 2 more large convoys and lost contact with them, they seem to change direction much more quickly with GWX.
Finaly weather breaks with calm water and sunny skies made contact with a single merchant and orderd Uboat to surface. All crew reply confirmation of orders and info in German voices with English text. With Uboat now on surface, decided is a good time to try out Deck Gun. Fearing the worst, it would take half of my 88MM ammo to sink this ship, I was amazed after only 12 salvos aimed at waterline at 2800 meters, she exploded and split in two. The eye candy in this mod is amazing, from ship models to buildings, ports and subs many new things added.

[attachmentid=792]

With weather still calm made contact with 5th convoy and am currently setting up a good shooting position.appears to be about 15 ships <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

[attachmentid=793]

Some eye candy, The Graf Zepplin carrier docked at Kiel

[attachmentid=794]

Sailing the Kiel Canal, took about 3 1/2 real time hours at 4 knots <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
