Anyways.. me made my own skin for my Type VIIB U-Boat. Type VIID is having wrong color in it's three conning tower deck texture files.. haven't managed to repaint them yet. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="no.gif" /> I'll post a picture of me VIIB sometimes later. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> It has a nice blueish/darkblueish watery camo repainted skin.. or should I say layerpainted skin? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> I find it easier to find a good skin and then download it and LAYERPAINT IT! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> I also got a tool/utility to change speed of U-Boats. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

And no I'm not talking about SH 4, I'm talking about SH 3. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Meh! Played Sh3 an Sh 4 with mods, an yep!. I blast them outta the water, played many hours on both games and found them challeng'n with mods . Luv Sboat in Sh4 limited range an short on torps. racked up some nice tonnage with that boat in Solomon Islands with run silent run deep mod by Lurker . <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

Hey, I got the Silent Hunter 4 and I must say that at least to me that thing is 10 times better than Silent Hunter 3. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I just have some minor issues to work out in that game.. the most important one now is finding good skins for subs but I've managed to find only one good skin and that skin is for Gato class. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> At least Gato doesn't look boring and rusty anymore but I want that nautilusish s-class sub to have a good skin too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> But all I have found are those boring FooBar or FooBor's skins.. they're EVERYWHERE! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> Have mercy! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" /> I want a skin that has the subs buttom/boiler detailed with plating too like the upper part! SH 3 and 4 are on sale on Steam. SH3 for $4.99 and SH4 for $9.99

I might get SH4, although I might just sit out and wait for SH5 which can't be too far away.

I'm still on SH3 + GWX which is almost perfect to me.

SH4 has some annoyances last time I read about it; and I like playing the (in the end) losing side of the war.

It was a hard find 2 years ago

but GW1.1a was 1,000,000 times less annoying than GWX

as GWX was intended to ONLY be played in real time

meaning if it takes you less than 2 weeks to reach your patrol zone, you are cheating - and this 2 weeks is REAL WORLD TIME

Ha ha ha, too much realisim for my tastes. I'll just wait for SH5, hopefully by then I'll have a better rig to run it on, my PC is past it's prime.

That's not the worst part about GWX

They expect/demand that you man all the stations in your "boat" - like your officers were hired just to get paid

Unless you suck at it : In the sub game Dangerous Waters, I'm horrible at manning the TMA and unlike the AI in 668i, the AI officer who controls the TMA is horrible in DW.

Oddly enough, I used to be better with the TMA in 668i than I am with a 668i in DW.

I seldom sail modern subs in games; I just preferred the sheer terror of WW2 submarines ; ever stalked a convoy in pitch black stormy seas and the game just refuses to let you target anything?

Well, that's where your fancy manual TMA comes in! I don't need no targeting assist if the torps just ran like they would in RL!

That I tell you was fantastic fun. Just pray some huge cargo ship, or worse, a destroyer, doesn't turn into you because the visibility was no more than 500 yards!

But, I loved the OHP frigate in DW. Of course, she was woefully ill equipped to deal with SS-N-19 missiles from those Russian bombers. I mean... Standard Missile 1 against those monsters, oh dear.
