Alright fellas, I want to express myself but I can find a better place and here for audiences. I am one of the Sid's Pirates fan as well. But my first game experience is not from the original Pirates but rather it's from Uncharted Water: New Horizon. Therefore uncharted water still give me a better impression of sea game gameplay.
Uncharted Water Goodies: (Trading Oriented)
You can sail around the world (Big Plus)
You have 6 characters to choose. (Each has it's own reason to go to sea)
You can explore and discover the Wonders, Artifacts, Animals and Culture.
You can command multiple ships is battle. (Turn Based)
Very large variety of trading items. Goods of Asia are unavailable in Europe.
You assist cities by investing the economy.
Stories oriented game so you can actually win in this game.
Pirates Goodies: (Piracy Oriented)
The duel is cinematic and fun to watch and play.
You can upgrade ships.
You can dance and marry with gov's daughter.
You can catch most wanted criminal.
You ACTUALLY really find the treasures and lost cities.
You assist cities by escorting immigrants and cargo ships.
You can attack cities.
You can interact with Pirates and other settlers.
It's opened ended game so you can play forever.
Both Goodies:
Good number of items to purchase and Ships variety.
What I can imply from the list is that Sid's Pirate missed the essential elements of sea games like in Uncharted Water. But on the positive side, Sid's pirate make sea games with little details which make it looks good.
After playing Sid's Pirate, I hope what I played is actually sometime like Uncharted Water. I want to go around the world and visit many settlers and experience different style and culture. Sail around Brazil and through Pacific Ocean and reach Japan. Go to the tavern and have tea instead of beer. The sail to China and pick up some chinese chicks, then sail to India and grab some spice. Sail through the storm via Madagascar and get to Istambul for carpet. Then back to the Carribean. Or may be just stay at your home nation and fool around there.
Thanks for listening.
