Screenshots thread

Armed Schooner: indeed, compared to other ships, its arcade performance seems low compared to its realistic performance. Arcade speed can go up to 15.5, turn rate to 50. Corsair Schooner, which is a better armed, pirate version of the same ship, also gets its arcade performance boosted to match.

Caravela Redonda: almost looked at the wrong ship because that's also the realistic mode name for what arcade mode calls "square-rigged caravel". It's also the name for a Portuguse ship which would be perhaps better renamed "carrack". It's an older-looking design than the other caravels with higher superstructure and is indeed an inferior design. Possibly reduce its period chance in "Spanish Main" so you don't see as many of them in the later period.

Dutch pinnace vs. medium pinnace: the Dutch pinnace loses some cargo capacity because it has a heavier armament. It's also slower in realistic mode, but the same speed in arcade mode. So the Dutch pinnace will be slightly slowed down in arcade mode. HP can stay as it is; this is a pinnace, not a frigate!

USS Enterprise: this was an earlier attempt to make a more realistic version of the Interceptor. The model has a few more guns than the Interceptor but not enough to justify over double the crew size. Possibly either increase its speed and turn to match "US_Interceptor" and "RN_Interceptor" (American Brig), or drop their performance to match "US_Enterprise" - at present they're slightly slower than the fantasy "HMS_Interceptor". In any case, "US_Enterprise" crew can drop to 65 compared to 57 for the other two.

Treasure Galleon: could indeed do with a boost to its arcade speed, as other ships have higher arcade speed than realistic speed while this one has them the same. Realistic speed stays at 8, arcade speed goes up to 9.5.

Further changes:
Armed Schooner (and Corsair Schooner, which is the same ship with a heavier armament for use by pirates) get the arcade speed and turn rate improvements suggested.
European Barque: the arcade speed is reduced to be comparable with realistic speed. The Barque Longue and Jackass Barque also needed their arcade speeds reduced.
Fast Galleons: the arcade speed is increased - at present they're the same as Fast War Galleons, whereas in realistic mode they're faster than Fast War Galleons.
East Indiaman: should indeed have a slightly better turn rate than Heavy East Indiaman but its turn rate in arcade mode is the same. So its arcade turn rate can be slightly increased in line with its realistic turn rate.

Going to full canvas after navigating the treacherous waters of Cozumel. It's been ages since I've tried negotiating my way out of the bay and was surprised I could get it done at roughly 10 knots with no hull damage.

Here's a screenshot of a battle I made:

I love this black galleon paint scheme and am grateful to whoever made it. It looks so intimidating!

So, I gave her tan sails which imo goes along well with the hull.

I name this ship 'La tirana' (the tyrant) and gave it 32 lbs. cannons in the code to give it a fighting chance against 'La couronne'. After all, Spain was at war with France in the 'Spanish Main' era so why not put up a duel with the two.

Looks like dear @Petros' skin.
He certainly was very gifted at making quality textures. :bow

Why not indeed? :cheers

Another battle against La Couronne. This is the battle of Cozumel during the "Assassin" storyline. As Johan Elting, I'm in his special xebec. La Couronne has a couple of Heavy East Indiamen as escort, one of which is also visible here. Not visible in the screenshot is an English group also present at the battle, but that's why I'm flying an English flag - the storyline required me to get an English LoM for an earlier mission, I still have it, and using it meant I didn't need to take on all ships from both fleets simultaneously.

After capturing both La Couronne and her escorts, I returned to Havana, now under a Spanish flag, to report another successful mission. (I'm still using the xebec's original blue and white sails, so the captured ships automatically used the same.)

The Caribbean pirates are pissed at the animist ship attacking their vessels and agree to team up to schedule an attack with their best ships:

Needless to say they learn a harsh lesson when fighting a group that has no qualms offering some Dutch kids as a blood sacrifice to their demon.

"Dark Captain"'s sadism won't let him just sink an opposing ship. He has to take out the sails and take out 90% of the crew, leaving them stranded in the open ocean.

Fortunately for them, their ship's damage made her sink and they endure a much faster demise in Davy Jones' locker.

Ah yes, the secret room in the temple. A fun easter egg that one.

The "Rat" also returns in TEHO, I have found a portrait of it in the game files, and also the room returns along with the temple. I actually think the first time I found it was in TEHO.

So I just finished the main storyline again after a while and I don't remember seeing this in one of my playthroughs ever or I just actually forgot about it. Lol. This is awesome!
Those are the developers of the original game, so that room is present in the stock game and in all mods since. But the room is rather hard to find, so it's not surprising if you haven't seen it before!

I only found this room in the mod, first time playing Ardent. I was really surprised, because I believed to know every single location of the stock game by heart (and if I may say so, other than this room, I did and I still do).

So with your knowledge of all stock POTC locations can you confirm that every location except town building interiors has at least one random item spot? I've made a thread about it a while ago (link below), so I find your post a good occasion to ask.

Interesting choice of sails and flags. The sails are one of @GhostOfDeath91's new custom textures and according to the description "represent the holder's commitment to freedom". The flag is my version of the one for the Holy Roman Empire. ;)
Freedom from the Roman Empire or for what they portray I suppose. :cheeky
In AC IV: Black Flag, they are the sails of the Maroons, the slaves who rebelled to join Adewale.
Nice! It's a small world after all. :cheeky

One of the changes in the July update is an overhaul of brothels. For one thing, it should now be easier to spot the owner who will let you rent a room:

The other ladies in the main room now have a revised dialog - it's always been in the game but was never used until now. As well as various innuendo, there's this:
