Pre Build 13 Modpack

Pieter, while I do feel honoured to be included in the modpack, I think you may have forgotten to include the WhrSea.c file.

It goes to show my incompetence, but I still haven't researched the effects of changing fMaxSeaHeight and the changes I've made in the time .c files.

Technically it could produce problems to not have fMaxSeaHeight set to the exact value specified in my own WhrSea.c.

IT is me or, with your 2 october update, the change I made on the buildsetting.h don't take effect...

Something as simple as my name won't change.

And yes, I started a new game... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Another think if I try to assing "A" key for sword the key seems already used (but isn't true).
<div align="right"></div><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I will check it. For all I know, it should work, but I'm not sure... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Is there? I might have made a mistake then. I'll check it as well.

I thought it said in your WhrSea.c file that that value isn't needed, so I didn't put it in. But I will put it in next time. Hope that'll work.

There was a BuildSettings.h file in the update (because a new setting was added to turn on/off KiwisDoFly's realistic waves mod), so your old file got overwritten. If you make the changes again after installing the latest update, do they still not work?
Also: You can change your name in the F2>Character menu. Click your name, press Backspace and type in your new name. Then confirm with Enter.
Hope this helps... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I have indeed made a stupid mistake with the new islands update file. Please take the RESOURCE\INI\texts\Enlish\common.ini file from the most recent post Build 12 modpack update and put it on top of your new islands release. That should work. I hope... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
I will update the update downloads on my page some time later; don't know when though... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

HI,

Thanks for the hint about the name, but it seems that other buildsetting.h tweaks don't work... I've done them after installing the latest update and some work, other don't... for example the "show other HP"... i turned it to 0 and it's still show..

Thanks!

Uh? That's odd. When I have some time, I will have a look at it. Though I haven't got the slightest idea why this might be happening. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

it "could" be my version of the game or anything else... I'll look to be sure I haven't do something wrong...

I've got a story bug with the post 12.1 build update. When on the main quest and at Isla Muelle where you rescue Danielle from the 3 ruffians, after I kill them, Danielle gets up, comes over to talk to me... and that's it. I can't respond, I can't leave the area because all exits are blocked. Only solution is to reload a previous save and just not talk to the bartender in the tavern about Danielle.

I have finally managed to get a new update ready. It is not uploaded yet though. I'm currently working on that, but my upload speed is rather slow, so it'll take a while (at least another hour or so).

Also: The full-size modpack is now a stunning 128MB in filesize, meaning I don't have enough webspace to put the full file on. So I must make it into a two-part download from now on.

It took me quite some time to get this update working reasonably well. After I put in all new mods and bugfixes, I found out not all of Swindler's bugfixes worked, so I had to take them out again. Took a while. But I reckon I have now about all the working new stuff together, hopefully with some bugs fixed as well. There is also a cool new mod adding more interior to your ship. Defenitely much better. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
Few bugs I did find: At the crew's quarters I encountered three Russian-speaking floating crewmembers. Looked quite... weird! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

The files are uploaded now. I hope everything works OK. Or at least not less OK than they used to... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Could you please tell me, which ones and what didn't work?

Cheers!

When I added in all your fixes, the shipberthing interface couldn't be opened anymore. Can you check that out? Maybe the ";"s should be there, while they appeared they shouldn't. I re-added them for the time being. Or maybe your slight rewrite didn't work. I'm not exacty sure what didn't work; all I know is that the shipberthing interface didn't open anymore. I took your fixes out and it worked again. But there might be some of your fixes that actually <i>should</i> be in there, so I don't know. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

BTW: I though I'd make a short list of the new stuff:
- More ship interior added. In addition to being able to enter your cabin, you can also enter the crew's quarters and a deck. Here you can also encounter crewmembers and officers. This mod might be improved and extended on a later stage. (by Maximus and Screwface)
- Different captain's cabin on different sized vessels. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
(Not sure how this works with the chests; would you lose the contents in the chest if you buy a ship with a different cabin model?)
- Lugger VML added by Jack Davidson. Model originally from the SLiB mod. The walk file isn't right yet and must be changed. Somehow. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
- More bugfixes by Swindler
- More interface fixes and changes by Maximus
- Petros changed the handling of the skill increase by tattoos

- New islands map to replace the old islands map in the new islands mod
- New locations and stuff in the new islands mod.

I think that's about it. Sorry if I left anything out. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

<!--quoteo(post=133747:date=Oct 24 2005, 05:43 PM:name=Pieter Boelen)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Pieter Boelen @ Oct 24 2005, 05:43 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->When I added in all your fixes, the shipberthing interface couldn't be opened anymore. Maybe I found out <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
In one file I had some typos, writing "tempstatus1" where it should be "tmpstatus1". I corrected that and the interface opens now. I put only the one file on FTP.

But maybe someone can test the interface in whole. I never used it and don't know exactly, what it does <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> . But the syntaxerrors seem very obviously (at least to me) - don't know, how the interface worked with them. I mean, if the function isn't declared properly, who could it be called? That's not really C, the game is using, is it?

And I still got no solution for the CTD when assigning a new captain to a ship. It's the same as with the Swap-Ships bug: Copying a ship to another character causes CTD <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Anyway: Great work again Pieter! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Just downloaded and then on to testing, which means: start a new game again <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />. Haven't even freed Oxbay in the current one...

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Pieter!

You find me confused now: it doesn't seem, you took out all my fixes, because the FOOD_ON check seems to work and also the NO_SPECIAL_WEAPONED_NPCS fix and also the fix for Toff's daughter. Or maybe (I just guessed)... I installed the most recent Post Build 12 pack over my current installation, which has those fixes included...

As I read, Maximus has also done some interface stuff. Do you know, if that concerns any fixes for the ship-to-ship transfer interface?

For all I know, most of your fixes are still in. I might have left some out that should be in there though. I'll be trying again later.

I don't recall Maximus making some major changes there lately, but I'm not entirely sure... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I understood your previous posts in that way, that you took out all my bugfixes-attempts because of the messed shipberthing interface. So I just wondered.

And <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php?s=&showtopic=5586&view=findpost&p=133752" target="_blank">here</a> you wrote: <i>- More interface fixes and changes by Maximus</i>. That made me curious <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" /> - don't want to mess up something maybe already in work.

No; I didn't take everything out. Just everything that had to do with the shipberthing. It said "- More bugfixes by Swindler" in the list too, didn't it? I'll see what happens if I try putting the bugfixes I kept out back in. I might have made a mistake myself.

Ok. I got it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> .

Just wanted to know, if I had to take a look at my fixes again, because maybe the involved files have changed because of some other work.

Once more: Great work to put together all those different changes into one pack! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_praise.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="icon_praise.gif" />

Something new: I made an <a href="http://spaces.msn.com/members/pieterboelen/" target="_blank">MSN Space</a> where I can post any news I may have. Hope you like it a bit. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
You can now be kept up to date on developments if you add me to your MSN list. If I manage to update the log frequently, that is. I am planning on adding a new entry with every new released mod or something like that. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
