Pre Build 13 Modpack

Pieter, I downloaded and installed the new update and the game wouldm't load. Runtime error.

What should I do?
 
What the heck? That's not supposed to happen. Can you show the error log file?

Alternatively: You could try downloading the large update instead of the small one.

I just tested the file, but for me it works. I could've made an error somehow though, but I don't have time anymore to find out. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
 
I can't get the game to start, how would I show an error log?

I updated the game on two separaate computers, same problem both places. So it looks like something is up. I am downloading the large update now.

Yeah, I've just downloaded the small update and have experienced the same problem. Ok Re downloading didn't work either. What I had to to do to get the game to laod was go back and reionstall the 9-11 update. FYI

Re-installed the 11/9/05 update and this got the game going again, however, can no longer save games. I'm only getting bad saves everytime.

Please start PotCModHelper (in the tools subfolder) and set the error logging on. Then start the game and show the error log. I will try myself to find out if I can discover what's wrong. For all I know, it should work as long as you were running the 11 september release (for the small update) or the 4 september release (for the large update). <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
I think I found the bug: interface.c was missing from both the small and large update. Why, I do not know. But at least I now know what the problem is, so <a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.net/fix.zip" target="_blank">here</a>'s the fix. Please put it on top of your current installation.

Interface.c was now also added to the update downloads, so that everyone downloading the updates from now on will not have the same problem. I am sorry to report there are still problems with the new update. Downloaded the fix and the game loaded fine. When I hit "i" to reinit, it turned the logs on and off. When I tried to pick up an object nothing happened.

Reset the controls to default. I saw that happening myself once. After resetting, it worked just fine. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
Oh great I had the same error log time, huppeldepups, and I heve reinstalled the game ( haven`t set any mods on it because for the SLIB MOD of Alexus B you need a clean PotC)

I know this is something simple so can someone tell me how to fix it?

Also the quick equip button 2 will not equip pistols you have to go to the inventory screen to do it. When you push 2 a message tell you you have equipped a pistol but you don't have the pistol untiil you go to the inventory screen.

I've got the game going again no probs. I haven't encountered those issues Jasons has yet, however there does seem to be a new problem with swapping ships. This is happening within the normal exchange range... whenever swapping ships (nothing else), the ship I've swapped from is lost (sinks). In an attempt to avoid this, I tried assigning an officer, however the interface then partially freezes. Have to restart to get outta there. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Any thoughts... solution?

Press "Change Current Settings" There you can change buttons
as you like. Mouse buttons too. My mouse right button "walk"
mouse right and left pressed same time = "run". When you set this up
mouse right to "walk" and mouse left to "run".

Swap ships when so close that "transfer goods icon" is on.

Are you using the most recent modpack? The last time I tried swapping ships, the game crashed after the transfer. I'll go and check it out again.
