Next event: sailing from the Muiderslot in The Netherlands.
Aka: a location I visited only a few short weeks ago! :shock

Seriously, at first I thought it might be a scam.
But the people from Statenjacht De Utrecht know about it and confirmed it is real.
So signed up I did!

Anyone else care to join the crew?
Will be quite nice to meet some other pirates! :cheers

I just took a quick look at the website and... WOW. That seems like the ultimate pirate experience I've always wanted to have! (and surely many more folks around this forum:p)

You definitely MUST document this trip! Preferably on video... and with your bottle of rum!:monkeydance

I'll be sure to let them know!
With a bit of luck, this won't be the last time they do it. :cheeky

I'll do what I can.
But without access to any digital equipment, there will be some challenges ahead...

Isn't that ship the "hoy" from NH?
That was what I thought at first too!
I actually checked the GM model; and indeed they're pretty close.
But the "Lyon Hoy by @Rider88" has no 'swords' and the Statenjacht De Utrecht does.

Missed the boat. Quite literally. Sold out by the time I saw this. What a bloody shame...
No surprises there.
By the time I saw it myself, they said there were only 4 spots left.
1 spot went to me. And then in the comments on Facebook, suddenly a lot of people were interested.

So I guess we're just going to have to convince them to schedule a second go; for PiratesAhoy! crew.
Or alternatively, we can do so ourselves. If they can charter that ship; so can I.
I've already been in contact with them anyway.

Chartering for members of the community would be an otherworldly experience. What a grand idea.

Also, congrats on site ownership, Pieter! Can't think of anyone better suited for that task and honor.

On small scale, we can even easily do it without chartering.
I do own a boat of my own, after all; and I'd be happy to welcome any of the good folk I know here. :cheers

Thank you very kindly!

Now the big question is...
So, I've got the site. Now what?
Anything and everything might be possible.
But I feel completely daunted and lost on what to actually do.
And so I end up doing...
Well...
Very little instead. :facepalm

HA! That's interesting; I just noticed the price here now shows 209 euro's:
https://www.pirates-experience.com/events/sailing-adventure-only-4-27-left
Somehow I got it for 139 myself.

And that's some pretty cool swag they've got on their store too:
https://www.pirates-experience.com/store
It does all seem a bit on the pricey side, but on the other hand I'd like to support these people too.
And full ships with qualified crew don't come for free (unless you get invited to S/Y Atlantis :razz ).

There is already talks of repeats with the same ship again next year.
Yes, you read that right! Plural. Multiple sailings intended. :dance

Looks like they've got quite the sizeable organisation:

Definitely worth keeping a muuuch closer eye on these fine lads and lasses in the future!

Seems like it is getting more and more exciting!
Especially with the more sailing.
Maybe I would be able to join at some point!
:ship

I just signed up for the second sailing:
4th of June this year.

Maybe this time... there will actually be WIND!
And we WON'T run aground!!
And the lines WON'T snap TWICE in front of our faces!!!

:woot
