On 2016-10 Oct-07, I went to see another Hallberg Rassy 29.
She was called "Evita".

I hope you are having a great time! :onya
This was three years ago.
Today I'm just cleaning up my files while being super sleepy.

Holland America Line's "Prinsendam" started as Royal Viking Sun, then became Seabourn Sun and is now Amera.
So let's have some fun and likewise try to reconstruct my boat's past too!
I added a poll to the opening post. :woot

I have chosen other, since I know the answer anyway.

Your Atlantis was previously named...

Black Diamond, a pirate vessel sailing in the Netherlands, you had to change the name due to the authorities mistaking you for the previous owner.

Correct. In fact, here's a picture of the Black Diamond before she was disarmed and converted to legal, civilian use.

And I think I've found out why the authorities mistook @Pieter Boelen for the previous owner:
My 9m Sailboat
The real reason I voted "Other" is that I cheated. I found the earlier posts about the boat. She wasn't the Sylpke, the nearest match in the poll. She was the Sylphe. :razz

Same here, Pieter had told me about Sylphe in the past.
So I thought of being creative instead; since the correct option wasn't available.

Image not showing for me... :ninja
I wonder why. It doesn't show up for me if I'm just visiting the site and have not logged on; it only shows up for me if I am logged on. But you must have been logged on to post that.

It's an "img" link to the same picture I posted elsewhere on this forum. I was trying to save space by re-using the same picture. Since that doesn't seem to work for some reason, here it is again:

That's what I figured too.
Very strange. o_O

I love that picture! It's absolutely priceless. :rofl

For the record, about that SPOILER I posted...
I paid for that report. It's supposed to be about my boat.
Except real life ended up saying something wildly different.
So the way I see it now, that report really WAS about another (non-existent) boat. :facepalm

Probably because the original image was posted in the "Modder Availability" thread. That's only available to modders. You chose to stop being a modder, and the forum doesn't know I'm a modder if I'm not logged in.

The new image posted in this thread is not protected, so anyone can now see it.

Interesting.
Indeed I removed that title from myself because otherwise I do have a bit... much.
And then I got back into a bit of modding again shortly after. :rofl

Odd that my group would limit my access to the pictures.
Even though my general Admin role still allows me full access to that subforum.

Nice looking ship :sail

For me both links go to the exact same page, so can't really tell any difference.

Might have actually unknowingly seen it in real life, but will definitely keep an eye out next time I'm over there.

Nice looking ship
Thankee, thankee!
Bit of a shame @Grey Roger's cannons addition is missing in real life...
But ye can't have everything now, can ya?

For me both links go to the exact same page, so can't really tell any difference.
They DO go to the same page.
Because it's the same ship!

But the MMSI (Marine Moble Service Identity) number changed.
The bastards at *name removed* ILLEGALLY put in the WRONG BLOODY NUMBER!
So turned out I had been transmitting the wrong identification for several years.
I didn't even realise until I got a warning from Agentschap Telecom.
REAL shameful for a maritime professional like me.
Thank Joosten that it is solved now!

Might have actually unknowingly seen it in real life, but will definitely keep an eye out next time I'm over there.
Do you ever go to the IJsselmeer? That's my sailing area for now.
Before I owner her, she used to be between Zeeland and Zuid-Holland; around the Haringvliet area.

There are more boats of the same make; and also yard.
Every chance you must've seen at least ONE of them at some point in your life.

And since you live only one country down South, really one day you should come over!
You'll certainly be welcome to. :cheers

Do you ever go to the IJsselmeer? That's my sailing area for now.

Not to the IJsselmeer no, but I have been to Lelystad several times.

I have been to the Batavia twice.

Also sailed from the Bataviahaven to Volendam on the Stedemaeght once. It was a sunny day with a nice breeze, so they could use the sails the whole trip, only really using the engines for docking/undocking. And while Volendam was a bit much for me, it really was one of the best days ever.

So there is a good chance I will be back for more sailing adventures in the future.
