I use the English Officer model?

MM I was just going to sart on my own character and I am not going to do a photo skin on it either, but a POTC face that resembles it, but I want to do that character too. But does the face has to be Young or old?

He's supposed to talk a lot. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />
I think I even figured out the model problem. All the characters who show as English soldier in the game are assigned as <i>LAi_SetGuardianType(ch);</i>. Assigning them as <i>LAi_SetStayType(ch);</i> instead seems to make them use their PROPER model.
Edit: Confirmed. Works fine now. Nathan Kell even started to talk now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Young or old is not too important <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> (though in reality i am only 20 lol)

Then young it is, can I keep the hair grey or the colour of which your hair is. What I am doing now is picking a character from POTC that resembles my face best and then putting it on a model I want.

Even more good news. By setting Petros to <i>LAi_SetStayType(ch);</i>, he now talks as well. I even managed to make Catalina talk by doing the same and removing all other code intended to make her talk. She originally ended up being set to ActorType, which explain why she didn't talk. Anyway, it's all fixed now and all character in the Turks townhall talk like they should and even show the intended character model. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Thomas the Terror

And a picture of meself:
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/Stinus.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

What do you think?

Not a bad likeness <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I am now updating individual quests. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" />
Bit of a problem with Morgan (isn't there always <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" /> [Joke, Morgan - Joke!]) He talks but in Turks he is not seeing the quest attribute trigger. He does however see it correctly on Nevis - so that sounds like another "silly" in there somewhere! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I am currently uploading my latest game files, including several fixes (no more stupid begin battle CTDs!), the USA as always-on nation and several fixes/improvements to your work on the quests. Please have a look at it. I have confirmed that everything seems to be working pretty well with the Beatrice quest so far. Everybody talks properly and all the correct models are used. I am even having no problem with Morgan's quest trigger on Turks at all. I don't have the QC quest attribute trigger at all yet though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

See <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/build/Build%2014%20Alpha%208%20WIP/22%20July%202008/" target="_blank">this folder</a>. Required RESOURCE files included (most of them anyway <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> ).
Edit: Upload finished.

A little doodle on Mings: The coat is not finished yet, just as placeholder:
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/ChristopherMings.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Face and hair are done, so SCM what do you think about it?

I downloaded your file Pieter. Extracted them into my PotC folder, clicked on the icon on my desktop, and this is what I got:

Not sure what it is... I looked in the file at those lines, but I couldn't see the error.

Probably you need some further RESOURCE files. I only made the download to be installed on the version from a couple of days ago for use by Short Jack Gold and Thomas the Terror. Pirate_KK even made some additional MODULES files that are probably needed for the game to run at all. I'm sorry about that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

It's recommended to download and install all files from <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/build/Build%2014%20Alpha%208%20WIP/" target="_blank">this folder</a> first, in order of date. And even then you will still need more files that can be found on the <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/?M=A" target="_blank">PotC Files FTP</a>, most of them in <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/Thomas%20the%20Terror%20files/?M=A" target="_blank">Thomas the Terror's folder</a>. I still need to make an easy install version this week. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Ahh, ok. Thankee!
So you're gonna add those needed files to this little update this week? I'll root around the FTP and all but at least I know that if its still messed up its not for long.

Yes, I will put it all into an update this week. In fact I MUST because after that I will leave for half a year again and I really do want to leave you with something you can at least work from, even if it's far from being perfect.

I wish you luck trying to install all files. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask. There's some manual work involved, including moving and renaming a lot of AoP location files. There are programs to do this more quickly though (if only I had known BEFORE I renamed all 1000 files manually <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> ). Also you need to install it on top of the most recent "released" modpack version, being <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=11854" target="_blank">Build 14 Alpha 8 WIP 2 Pirate_KK</a>.

Here is Merciless Mark: <img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/MercilessMark.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
I also have a model for CCC, as he is a German I made him after Baron von Munchhausen.

The officer in the blue and white uniform is JPJ... just in case you ever wanted to know... *wink*
<img src="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h300/_Commodore_John_Paul_Jones/John_Paul_Jones_New.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
And in regards to the other officers... those are some of the best images I've found to date of the blue/red Continental Navy uniforms. The midshipman in blue and white in the background would wear a red waistcoat and blue breeches if he were to follow the regulations set down by Congress... but we see that he's followed JPJ's example and worn one of the non-regulation 1777 uniforms.

Merciless Mark looks very good as well. This'll be good fun once they all made it into the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

As for US soldier skins, I think it is at least important to make them not look like the other nations' soldiers. Just to prevent confusion. Historical accuracy is a plus. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

RUNTIME ERROR - file: battle_interface\loginterface.c; line: 50

RUNTIME ERROR - file: Interface\BaseInterface.c; line: 21

Loads past "DirectX" screen then CTD
