Maelstrom!

True. I'm afraid that doing this would be really complicated. More complicated than we can reasonably achieve right now. The few proper coders are doing their own things already and have plenty of work on their plates as it is. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

my idea is that we keep the current loading indication, but that it's length indicates how many cannons are loaded instead of how far they are loading cannons. (the difference isn't very obvious, but i hope you get what i mean) as a result, the indicator will rise with small jumps instead of gradually increasing.

I get the idea. I think Cylon13 had the same thought. The problem is how to achieve that code-wise. That'd be quite complicated. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

make that VERY complicated. the problem is that you need to get your head around what you actually need to do, not actually piecing it together and doing it.

here's an alternative idea:

what if you'd press space, a cannons would begin to start fireing randomly. press space again, and they stop fireing. maybe there should be a pause once in a while to prevent the player from hammering on the enemy in endless succession, except with big ships.

Exactly what i was talking about. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Morgan's idea is a good one also, what about mergeing my idea and Morgan's idea into one? I mean that if those two things are merged into one then we could have complete control on cannon reloading/shooting thing in game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Somebody'd still need to figure out how to do it though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Yes i agree but that somebody is not me. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Hey, I dont want a maestrom at all - let´s screw it then, shall we? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Agreed ..screw it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

But don't screw that cannon thing ..please. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

I don't want to screw anything, but if nobody is both willing and capable of doing it, it'll end up being screwed anyway. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

okay, let it be skrewed if it ends up skrewed, is that right? unless it can be un-skrewed, of course.

Just for clarity's sake... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Right now we should not screw anything ..yet. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Well there is plenty of time to experiment, the quest for the CotBP is still being done, so this (maelstrom) will probably be more suited for discussion closer to a possible AWE quest, despite being an almost impossible feat to create

The cannon ideas though, thats something i would hope people will think about, IF they have free time and IF they want to take this on

Till then, lets just concentrate on the upcoming redone main quest <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

that WOULD be awesome to see, multipil cannons all firing at diffrent times, man that would add realisum(SP) into the game, also it would be fun

Whahahaaaa! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

i was bloody serious dammit! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
