Ideas for the Napoleonic add-on main/side quests , anybody?

I'd rather keep it somewhat historical... Ol' Boney stays in France where he belongs. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
We can always do what Disney did to Norrington... turn the Governor into a rum sodden broken man on the streets of Tortuga... replaced by a man suited for the job... an Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson. (I will stray from history a bit to satisfy everyone's dreams of serving under Nelson.)
 
Alternately we could somehow try to extend the world map, and add new islands, and thus satisfy the aforementioned ambition of aiding the assassination of Boney. Is is possible to "load" a second map, just like on land when you exit or enter a different place? Say if you find an "exit" on the border of the first, and then "moor" there to switch to the next map?

minus how long it would take to build a map
then put it into the game

btw..who ever said about the chest that could dominate and make ur navy 2wice as large

Then the only option must be to add new islands?? How do we fit encounters (ex: battle of trafalgar) into the game when there's no way to reach them? Perhaps there's a way to cirucmvent this problem maybe? Any idea how?

Making new maps/islands/locations is very hard. So far, the only people who managed to add new islands are the Russian modders. Nobody here knows how to do it. You could try to figure it out and maybe you'd manage it in the end. But don't think of it as something easy... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

IE, what kind of steriotypes and archetypes do you want to see in higher ranking naval officers and/or in the main character? What should this first mission be like? Purely fictional w/ some historical allusions or completely part of a bigger historic event?
 
you could also do the main quest as a sort of norrington story in potc 2. In the beginning you are very powerful but, being obsedded with capture someone, you end up on tortuga very poor, then you could use the story of khaol ra to something where you can get your power back. just like POTC 2, but that should be the PIRATE main story.
 
this mod is going to take forever with the amount of stuff going in...and soo few ppl.

as for the european battles...
neone know how to speak russian here?
 
Did you try an online translator? And yes, there are pretty few of us, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> but I intend to begin working w/ Johannes on the 1st quest (upon entering into the navy) very soon. After that as we go along with the main plot we shall consequently work our way upwards, and ask/acquire new things for the add-on as needed. Thus, I shall take this as an oppotunity to ask ANY of you people out there reading this topic for help: I will be doing spellchecks, and most of the dialogue, but I need two people to collborate with me, one to edit pirate speech/jargon, and one who will check for inconsistencies in naval affairs/terminologies/etc. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> anyone?

When you say edit the dialogue, do you mean replacing it, or just checking that it's gramatically correct (or piratically correct, as the case may be)?

I can do the grammar checking, but probably not the creating new speech / changing existing speech.

If it's just checking, I'm available from now till around 23rd July.
