Ideas for the Napoleonic add-on main/side quests , anybody?

Eh.. Hello everyone. Just thought I'd start this thread. As a starter I'd like to ask about the possible climax of the main quest at the battle of Trafalgar. The current game does lack truly large naval battles. The problem : of course nobody wants to add the coastline of Spain or Africa to the map, but perhaps there can be a ship rally point, which only appears at a certain point similar to the way Khael Roa wasn't accessible 'til you took on Silehard and Isenbrandt (in the stock game). I do have a question that's been bugging me. Can anyone tell me what role pirates are gonna play in the Napoleonic Add-on? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Should they be granted amnesty by the reigning monarchs or should there be an "alternate" questline that lets you take your own third side?

I think there should be several quest types. One should be like the Barbary Wars, when piracy was being extinguished in the Med. You are given certain pirates to hunt down, etc. Another quest type should follow that of the navy, a military point of view. You start as a commander, with local missions and jobs, then are sent to patrol the enemy's waters as a frigate and finally sent to blockade or sek out the enemy as a flag officer with a squadron.

They can go either way, depends on what choices you make along the way. You might become a Dutch captain and change the history of the world... "Admiral Nelson fights the Dutch at Trafalgar!" or you might join the Americans and start a war that never happened or even dominate the Caribbean as the Russians... savvy? Then they might tie in. Since the Dutch decimated Nelson's fleet at Trafalgar, they head to the Caribbean to take it from the Russians, which starts a war with the Americans! LOL! Confusing...

Well... maybe. There might not be Russians in this mod. Perhaps later, once we have a base mod to add on to. I was just using them as an example. Sorry for the confusion mate. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Quite an interesting notion of flexibility. But then again, I do suppose that some people not of the occupant carribean powers occasionally popped up. Maybe the nations involved in the napoleonic wars can be added, but dont necessarily have to have bases in the Caribbean. Now, as long as were hypothesizing and discussing quests, then may I bring this concept up? Perhaps the storyline can fill in the gaps in certain areas of history. I have one case in particular, which is, who assasinated Napoleon? Anyone see a potential mission in this?

Or maybe if you're allied with the French you can help him escape. Coz what I disliked in the stock game was that you couldnt really change allegiances, because there were hardly any quests allowing you to serve the french (which I suppose would be offense and empire-expansion) or the dutch (trading. and trading is where pirates were frequently encountered. riight?) as opposed to just being stuck involved with the Brits throughout almost the entire time.

ENGLAND

FOREVER!!!

P.S. I had it all cool and written out with a bunch of letters, but it didn't bloody come out spaced!! Damn its EYES!!!

Well then I guess playing the French is for the despotic power hungry types only <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wavarr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":warr" border="0" alt="wavarr.gif" /> HAhaha.
Er,, yeah. But then again another thing that would be killer cool is if you could actually interact with Boney and Nelson in the game. By all accounts, the're the center of it all. Whats a napoleonic era sailing/naval mod without Nelson?

To summarize the ideas so far:

New Quest suggestions

1. Possible climax of the main quest at the battle of Trafalgar.

2. Alternate questline where you play on your own side as a pirate,

3. Similar quest to the Barbary Wars, when piracy was being extinguished in the Med. You are given certain pirates to hunt down, etc.

4. Navy/military point quest. You start as a commander, with local missions and jobs, then are sent to patrol the enemy's waters as a frigate and finally sent to blockade or seek out the enemy as a flag officer with a squadron.

5. Assasination of Napoleon. Kill him, or save him.

Now - volunteers to mod/create these quests, please PM me.

I think that you should start with four that has three in it that finishes with one. You can break off and start two at any time. Five could be a possible side quest that interacts with four.

Be sure to make an installer that takes the replaced files and archives them first, so someone can switch back to the original main quests without a full reinstall?

Just give me a tutoreal,
and I will remake the main quest of POTC..
how do I remake those files?
I havnt any experience in quest so far.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
