Have a full map for my sister, but still cannot find her

Luminous

Landlubber
I've been given the full map in the end, but I just cannot find her.

It says to search south of Cumana. There is no south to this place!! Its on the south part of the map. There is land to the lower 3.4 of the map, will a small amont of sea in the top left.

There is a land mark that should be visible from the sea called Kife Rock. I've sailed the whole of the south coast and cannot find this place. I have in a previous game managed to get all family members btw.

Here is a link to the map, maybe one of you has an idea. Failing that I will have a look around to find a cheat to make it say I have found her.

Ummm... there definitely is an area south of Cumana. About not finding the rock... have you looked in the bay area south of Margarita?

Well, sorry to inform you, but that patch of water could easily be a lake as well. I've had this happen to me plenty of times and the only way I was able to even make anything out of it was landing on shore and searching in the area they say, even if it means walking inland for weeks. My advice would be to land south of Cumana and just walk around looking at landmarks through your spyglass. Maybe you'll see a lake with a head stone in it.

I have looked in the bay area south of Margarita. I cannot see any landmarks in that area.

I'm not sure where you mean when you refer to an area south of Cumana. I can see one to the south of Trinidad, and I have looked there as well.

Here is a link to my main map.

I have searched the coastline shown in this map about `3-4` times in totality. I must be blind, or the map is wrong. Or I am just missing something really obvious, probably am......

Cumana is on the coast of Venezuela, right? And there's lots of Venezuela south of it. So I don't see why the map should be wrong, well, besides that there doesn't seem to be this rock, which is indeed disturbing.

Wouldn't think the water is a lake, there is no lake south of Cumana. The next one would be to the west between Caracas and Puerto Cabello, and in that case the hint wouldn't read "south of Cumana"...

Bottom line: in my opinion the rock HAS to be either east or west of Cumana...

Thanks Otaku_Hanzo. I'll go try that now <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Ok. I took the bottom right part of the map to be the last bit of water that is just to the East of Cumana. I then headed south the look for her. Nothing <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I walked so far it turned me around as I had strayed too far from the action. I've searched around that area with my scope for a while.

Mmmmm, going to look for that rock again......

I've found lakes where there weren't any on the world map. Just small ones, but they were there.

Check the inlet there just south of Margarita. Maybe that will produce some results.

Checked the inlet area of Margarite. Managed to walk from Margarite to the pirates refuge!

Also `re-checked` south of Trinidad, nothing.

I'm starting to think that something is a little fishy with the map <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Trinidad is way too far off. Check all around Cumana, southwest of it too, if you haven't already.

I think the map is buggered. I've searched and searched and got nothing.

I'm going to assume its the map that is wrong and try and move on. I konw that the trainer allows you to complete all of the family quest, is it possible for it to just complete this one member?

If someone wants me to make my saved game available for download I can do so. This way it can be verified that there is an error, or that I am just dumb <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Thanks mate, saved game sent to you.

I'll host the file if anyone else wants to have a look at it. That way it will save your poor mailboxes for those of you who do not have a paid for service.

I also will help you find the location just as I did with someone in another thread, also about their sister. Feel free to `e-mail` a copy of the save game to;

bkmgijoe@aol.com.withoutthispart <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Or, just send PM me a link and I will get it myself <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I've decided to host the game so all you helpful people can "benefit" from it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

It's here:
<a href="http://andy.romar.users.btopenworld.com/" target="_blank">http://andy.romar.users.btopenworld.com/</a>

Thanks in advance for your help. This sure is one friendly active forum. Who would have thought that there would have been a forum just for pirate games!
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Someone else will probably beat me to it though since it'll be another hour or so before I can even play the game. Got my gaming rig defragging. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I found her. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

And I have a theory about why you could not, conducting an experiment to see if its true. Should take less than 10 minutes. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

EDIT: Well, my idea about why you could not find her was wrong. But if you want to know where she is, just let me know. I did indeed find her and she is right where the map says she will be. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> But the map is wrong as far as teh land mark is concerned. There is no Knife Rock. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

Found her as well, and the reason there is no Knife Rock is because a certain something has replaced it on the map. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> When you find out what that certain something is, you might cry. I almost did.

Otaku - I noticed that as well and thought that if it was removed the landmark would be there. Well, I did what needed to be done and the landmark was NOT there after it was removed <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Ah well, just another fine bug we've run into is all. I basically looked at the lay of the land on the map and the location they stated at the bottom of the map. Put two and two together and managed to find it pretty easily. I'm having a similar problem with a Lost Incan City map, so guess I need to pay more attention to the lay of the land and hope I can find it.
