i tried looking, but, i cant find anything with the name mail!
the closest thing to that is "manage ignored users" or something along those lines!


hoorah! we finally have some good officer's uniforms available!
P.S: are they available in Tailors shops yet, or are they just for the military NPCs?

Sorry lads,

I've just changed ISP and am having a shite load of trouble trying to work out why I can't get back into the ftp. I've checked all my internet setting, but keep on getting this message...

"FTP Folder Error

An error has occured opening that folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder."

I've tried all the internet settings that I can think of that seem reasonable, but to no avail, however I'm hoping that someone out there can set me straight ...

Pieter, if I can't resolve this in the short term then I may well have to take up your generous offer to convey files to the ftp.

No problem. Just uploading files is easy. And I don't even have to keep an eye on it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
The file is now uploaded to the FTP as "JMV & Jack Davidson British Marines.rar". Please note: This is on the new FTP (ftp.piratesahoy.org).

Ok i must say im very impressed by the quality of these skins, and i do hope somone mages a toggable mod to replace the soldiers with these skins.

In fact, i think the officer skins are definatley the best skins ever made, even the stock ones pale in comparison , that is my opinion.
 
A toggle on them being used is very possible. And I, for one, would like that, because these skins indeed ARE excellent. A new game would be required for the toggle to take effect though.

BTW: The officers are up for download now as well. I uploaded them hours ago, but forgot to tell anyone. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

I've reconfigured my system and I've got access to the FTP once again..... just got through about 10 minutes ago, WOOHOO......

Jack & Pieter, are the two packs on the FTP ('British Marines' and 'New Officer Uniforms') meant to be mutually exclusive or to be used together?
Reason I ask is that I notice having copied over the files for the Marines into my POTC folders, and then doing the same with the Officer Uniforms, that some of files in the latter pack are 'older' than the Marines ones. Am I meant to ignore this (as in no actual difference in the contents of the files), or would using the slightly older files in the Officer pack cause problems for the Marines? I don't understand the difference between the two packs I suppose.
 
For all I know, they're meant to be used together. I think it should work if you install the officers first and then the marines. Wait for Jack to reply to know for sure though... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

The officers mod needs to be installed first, then the Marines. If you do it the other way around then the older PROGRAM/Models/initModels file will overwrite and negate the Marines.

I'll either merge them into one mod, which is probably what I should have done in the first place (was working on these mods at different times), otherwise, I'll rewrite them with exclusive installation instructions.
There will be more skins on the way so I might even end up compiling them all into one big mod.

P.S. Pieter, has anyone else added any new skins (i.e. character models) since 5/3/05? Just want to make sure that anything new won't overwrite anything else. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" />

just got my PC back after a couple of weeks of having it banned, and might not be posting as often as i used to.
i have a question:
are the admiral skins among the files in these mods?

To Jack Davidson: There indeed are some added character models and there will be more. Don't worry; I'll add in your work as well (it's not enabled by default anyway) and make sure it doesn't overwrite anything. We could also make it an additional download instead, but then I WILL add in the required code in initModels.c; otherwise you end up with lots of different versions of files.

Admirals skins are included, 3 for England and one each for France and Spain.

I just wanted to make sure that the same character numbers are not being used by different modders. I'm currently using 291 to 314 for the officers and marines. I checked the thread re: Facemaker.c list of new officer characters, <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php?showtopic=4441" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php?showtopic=4441</a>, however, there's nothing else new mentioned there. As mentioned there, I may need to use up to no. 336.

If there's new character skins coming into the game, then I think we should continue to use this list to co-ordinate our efforts.

are you able to make new skins from these? because i noticed there is no warrant officer skin here <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
