Mod Release Build 14 Beta 3 Progress

Opening post updated with new fix-pack. Changes made:
- More consistent reputation for escort quests, so that should make mutinies MUCH less likely for them
- Simplified code for "searching Amiel Berangere's room" that should put an end to crashes there

Soldiers get pretty strong on the higher difficulties. That is probably what you're running into.

So, is this included in the fix from the opening post?
It is now.

I have not done Vigila Mendez yet. If he mutinies that would break the quest as he has to show up in the store two times.
He has reputation "None", so that should be OK. I hope. Unless that converts to a weird number.

I just did a pirate hunting job for the French Governor and it worked as advertised.

Hi all, please can you help me with the installation i followed all the intructions but when i click on the installer it says: "No archive files present. Place 'b14_beta3_full.7z and/or 'b14_beta3_update.7z' in this folder to continue". Please i tryed all. :(
DO you have b14_beta3_full.7z in the same folder as the installer EXE?
 
yes, inside b14_beta3_full there is a button called engine when i press him a window spawn (as in usual game) but the screen dont cover all the screen. All worcks correctly but when i start a new game the screen become black with quest bookk update. Its that the mod installed or is unistalled?
 
Now I'm confused. Did you get the modpack installed yet, but you get a black screen AFTER starting a new game?
If so, please post the .log files from your main game folder here so we can see what is wrong.
 
What i did is put the three files into a folder and then when i clikc the installer give me this error "No archive files present. Place 'b14_beta3_full.7z and/or 'b14_beta3_update.7z' in this folder to continue". what its wrong?
 
Its looking really nice already. It's come a long way already since the last time I played the build mod.
I do notice sometimes when I have a sea encounter it will give the land ahoy screen and then goes to a open sea with no encounter and when I enter the map I'm in the center of the map. I haven't been able to find a specific things which causes it. it just seems to happen randomly with encounters. But it does seem to happen only if I'm close to an island also.

is there a topic where you can report graphical glitches like walls which don't connect to the ground or things which are hovering etc? I personally things those are the things which need to be fixed asap. I know the last time I played the build mod those kind of glitches made me stop with it because it just gave me the feeling the whole thing was glitched.

It is useful to keep all these things together - rather than having them spread through a general thread like this. :yes


Help finding bugs and other glitches is appreciated - the mod has become so big that modders sometimes have difficulty keeping track of how changes that are made on one part of the mod affect other parts of it.

So you're still using the 3-file install too. well, yes, you put the three files into a folder and run the installer with the main files and update checked, if you do have an intel card, also check the intel fix box. what I have is this Clipboard01.jpg also try getting the attached fix:D Clipboard01.jpg

THREE files? Proper installation as per the ModDB release should just be two files: http://www.moddb.com/mods/new-horizons/downloads
Anyway, are you sure the files weren't renamed in any way? Make sure that the .7z part is also still there.

Sounds like it is just the BuildingSet. That isn't going to be any better, because the game wasn't made to support that in the first place and we're lucky to have that working as well as it does.
 
I installed the mod again yesterday with the files from moddb so I think they are up to date. i use a ATI graphic card so I didn't intall the nvidia patch.

I don't know for sure if its the buildingset. I notices at one port (dont know which one anymore, need to look it up) there was a building in the water which sometimes floated above the water because of the waves. also in port royal (I think) I noticed a fence floating over a canal and some more of those minor things. Are they fixable? If so I will keep an eye out for them and make screenshots so they can be fixed if someone feels like it to do.
 
If you can make a screenshot of them, I'll be able to confirm if they're indeed BuildingSet. I suspect they are, but can't be sure.

Please do. And be sure to always provide the 3 log files if possible(error.log/compile.log/system.log) - if one is missing, just attach the available log files so it can be checked out. -with the problem description, of course.. :)
 
When I try to download Installer and Contents Archive, it gives me "The requested page could not be found." error page. Looks like some URL glitch, Pieter :).
 
it works..you read what it says. just check back every 5min or every min, you never know when a mirror is available. just stick on that page and refresh it every couple of seconds or minutes(click on the check back later). or you can sign up for more available mirrors-much better, i have a profile there and the waiting is less or almost everytime I download something, there's always an available mirror. :yes :onya
 
Must be a ModDB problem. Just click "read more +" on the ModDB download description for some additional mirrors of our own.
