We're going quite off-topic here, aren't we? Might be a good idea if we returned to topic as well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

About RunMe.bat: We need to start a new thread on that. Sounds like it's not working properly for many people. I tested it myself and it does work as it should for my own version of the game, but I can't test the other language versions. Anyway: I'll start a new thread on it, please don't discuss it further here.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> I bought my Stockgame in Australia and think it is the us version?
I allways install any update, Beta etc on top of the old one, run the Runme.bat
and English.bat, no Problems. Only had issues with bugs ofcourse!
Now the Build 13 I installed on top of all that, just let it do what it wanted too,
put in my settings and played.......and no problems so far!!!
One thing I do is, make a copy of the Potc Folder, just in case, so I do not
have to reinstall! Because, as you all know it's a pain in the butt to do that!!!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

That's because it's no longer in the Program folder; it's now in the root directory. I had the same problem, was searching through the Program folder and jumping up and down because I couldn't find it... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

you hit the jackpot! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> well, almost. when it was finished, i got a message that it couldn't be installed because of to little space, while there was plenty of space left! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> it seems to happen every time that i download something big.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> you must be running a diferent game?
Both files are still in the same folder, namely; Pirates of the Caribbean/Programs/BuildSettingsh
and /IntarnalSettings.h!!!....Well they where both there last time I looked!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

For what it is worth when I ran the installer I found the build settings folder in the POTC folder <b>outside</b> the program folder.

Since I installed over the old updates there was also a build settings in the program folder. Changing things in that one had no effect on the game.

Changing things in one outside the program folder worked well.

I feel I've repeated myself in about 20 threads now.

<!--sizeo:3--><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>BuildSettings.h is in the ROOT PotC DIRECTORY for ease of finding it and editing it now!</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->

if it's so easy then why can't anyone find it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Bloody idiots.... maybe? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

oh, i'll believe that! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> everyone goes completely insane after spending time on this forum for some time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Possibly because the new BuildSettings.h file was put in a different folder, but the old one was not removed. It might have been better to overwrite the old version with a note that said where to find the new version.

Any time you go switching stuff around, whether it be key commands that everyone is used to being in a certain way, or moving a file that everyone uses (without removing the old file) then people are going to have problems. And questions. They aren't idiots. If you aren't prepared to answer questions about changed stuff, then don't change the stuff. Everything the modders do should be transparent to the player. Unless you're adding something new, of course.

is there a list included in the download of the new features of build 13? i keep discovering new things about it, all of them pretty imporatant. they would normally leave me stumped if i didn't know about them.

Yeah, I forget nobody likes change in this community. I always ponder why on earth so many new mods are being added then.

Oh well... scew it then. I am no longer going to bother suggesting making the build a better beast. No sense making useful changes for the better, when all the 'old school' people get all bitchy about it every god damned time.

Pieter, ignore all those ideas I had to make the install and build easier to use for new people. No one likes changes, so screw it. Just slap it together and throw up some patches to get things working, and just make it all a big difficult mess that makes new people to the build scream in bloody horror and run away making this community dwindle even more and more.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

With that... I go on my vacation now! Tis the holiday season in the States!
Good luck yall! Seeya next year (if this still exists then).

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Oh, come on, nobody said "Don't change anything" ! The idea was "If you change anything make sure that the players realize what has been changed and why."

Who said recently to me "Comments would have helped?" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Happy vacation, a lot of snow or a lot of sun, depending where you are headed <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />:

I found it pretty quick <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> "oh look its not where it normaly is.......[step up] ah its in with the runme.bat stuff...ok cool thats easy for new bods to find.......so whats in Programfiles now......oh thats that internalsettings.h thing i'll be needing to look at." - was about the long and short of it.

And happy holidays Hat <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

please come back to fix the bugs i find and tell me i'm mostly screwing stuff up in my bug hunting - wouldn't be the same without ya <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
