About an hour ago I was fighting the Black Pearl when I ran out of bombs, so I went to cannonballs. When I was out of cannonballs the Black Pearl's hull was still at 3% that may seem not that much but it is a lot when you have to destroy it with chain and that other stuff. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock:" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />

After I ran out of chain the black pearl still was at 1%. Easy you migth say but without cannonballs, bombs or chain it's like impossible to finally get rid of that 1%. It took me ages, I swear I heard the sea devils laugh from beneath the waves <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" />
 
Arg, tis I had luck once. I dared to fight those cursed pirates on the streets of Redmond. I wanted so badly to beat them, Tis be they invincible.
 
Once, I finally got a high relation with the French and Hero reputation... and when I entered the town, I encountered a random battle. ...then my officer accidently shot a French soldier.

If I was in that last fight of the game, against the Pearl, without any shot... I'd ram her.

I get the accidental stabbing/shooting a lot. Happens with soldiers, hosts in houses, potential wives... It's understandable that they'd retaliate, but friendly fire sure is a bytch.
 
Well I also tried ramming every time I got an opportunity but that damn pearl can take so much damage...
 
Well i once hit a spanish ship so hard i lost 50 points and gone from hero to swindler <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
I beat a battleship with a lugger armed only with grapes and knipples (which seemed to take forever). Finally boarded her but did not have enough crew to take her as a prize so she sank. When I got back in sea map mode I hit a storm before reaching port and died. No prize ship, no XP, no luck.
 
About the only bad luck I had was the first time I ran across the Black Pearl in build 11. You know, when you "encounter the Black Pearl!" The blasted thing was hostile from the `get-go`, and my second ship (a `cargo-stocked` galleon) fired on her before I could stop her! I wasn't on great terms with France, so I had to make a landing at Octopus Bay. No worries, right? WRONG. The second I weighed anchor, the Pearl was waiting for me! Try getting caught in a fight against a ship that you can't outrun, and can't even <i>dent!</i> And a fight you didn't ask for, on top of it!

Thankfully I got it fixed, but that was a nightmare!
 
After playing with b11 all day (the first day I had it), about 8 hours into it, the guards in Douwesan decided they didnt like me so they attacked me on sight.. and eachother for some reason. I went searching for a house in which to have someone bribe them off for me, and couldnt find one after 5 laps around town. Switching sections of towns more guards come chasing after me so I run into the nearest open building to save. I save in front of the tailor... during the save the game locks up for some reason.. ctd.. I restart the game.. go to reload it.. it loads.. but everything is black on the screen even though I can hear things.. f1 and f2 still bring up menus but no hitting enter and quickjumping anywhere in town.. savefile messed up. Since I had never had a ctd save before, my last save had been 8 hours ago... at level 4 or 5..
