Hi, Ive played POTC before, borrowed it a couple of times from a friend..

But at that time it had some killer bugs, about missing topics in dialog, crashes, and other bugs that made you start from the start again..
But it was great when everything was working.. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Does the "Build Mod" correct any of these bugs ?

The build corrects all of those old bugs in the original game, turns on many features that were turned off in the commerical release and adds tons of new features.

This is now a very rich, complex game and build 12.1 is vey stable.

Just what I was hoping to hear ! I am impressed so many people actually still play the game! Most of the people I've heard complaying about the game, descided to give up.. Nice that someone started correcting the errors!:)

I didn't make them. Someone called Kodo Boon did. The second model is already released, but isn't implemented in Build 12 yet. It will be in the next update. It is added in the Post Build 12 mods compilation mod that can be found through the link in my signature. It isn't 100% stable, but is working quite fine already. If you want, you can also easily replace the Build 12 Depp model with the new version; I believe the nescessary file is on the PA! FTP somewhere.
 
If I want to replace the model, Im just downloading the new Sparrow model file from PA, and overwrite it with the old Sparrow model in the "models" folder ?

btw. The link in your sig, seems to be down ?

EDIT: Dunno if this is a stupid question , but, is the PA FTP the same as "files" on the PA page ? can't find any thing in "files" thats called anything with Jack Sparrow or Depp ?
 
THe PA! FTP isn't the same as the "files section". FTP details:

It's not a stupid question. Most people around here already know it, but if you're new, you couldn't know it. So it's stupid from me to not tell you immediately.

On the FTP, there is a folder named "Depp". Download the "depp.zip" inside and copy the depp.tga.tx file to your RESOURCE\Textures\Characters folder. That should do the trick. It's the texture file that's being changed; the model stays the same.

Everybody gets a buggy internet once in a while. To everybody who hasnt had internet bugs, your as lucky as those that havent heard the crazy frog.
 
The login on PA!, is it the same as the one on the forum ?

I can't login , therefore I can't download the build <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

EDIT: Downloading the "modpack" from Pieters site .. Thats the same as build 12 right ?
 
Uhm. No. My modpack requires Build 12 to run. You can download the Build 12 full installer from <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,24/Itemid,46/lang,/" target="_blank">here</a>. You shouldn't need any login information whatsoever and should be able to freely download it. Extract it on top of PotC (make sure the extract path is correct; the default path is never correct due to an error of mine), then run the RunMe.bat in the main PotC directory. Hope this works.

My modpack contains a lot of post Build 12 mods. It is working quite fine, but is still a work-in-progress. There are still bugs left and a new update is being released almost every day. If you want to enjoy the most recent mods at the expense of not having a more-or-less guaranteed bug-free game, you can install the modpack on top of a properly working Build 12 installation. If you choose to do that, please report all bugs you might find.

Some mods might not need a new game, just a reinitialization, but for the Build, YES, you will need to start a new game. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
