Ahoy there!

I was checking out some Russian mods, and I found one that calls itself Filibustery. The main feature of it, is that it combines POTC and AOP. They have tons of new stuff. But the most important thing is: They have a worldmap that covers the REAL Caribbean! So say goodbye to Oxbay and Redmond model:

I will upload the islands.gm as soon as possible. Now we can use AOP islands (still with POTC towns, since I love those)

That map really looks like the caribbean, what islands does it include? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

As for the combined PotC and AoP (I never played AoP...) :
If i understand you right, the mod is running potc on the aop-engine, or the islands are modelled in potc as they are in AoP? I know, stupid question, but I seriously dont know ...
 
this could be downright awesome... i take it that the map is upside-down because the worldmap compass has the same problem?
 
No, it is running on the POTC engine I believe, because otherwise it would be seperate islands. It contains all the islands we have now (but then in their actual shape) plus St Eustatius, Dominica and the whole lot. But because I don't know how to implent such thing, I hoped others would know.

Wow. Now that's really good news!

This map is finely done, apart for some details... What are Conceição and Kaël Roa still doing here? And Grand Cayman is too big... And the ABC islands are not close enough - and one is missing.
Tell me, why are some islands in grey on your screenshot?

i think you kinda missed the fact that we already could. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> just install build 14 alpha 6, or install the directsail mod on top of build 13 final.

Do those Island is in diferent shape? Asking becouse of (don't)need to remake maps...

Some of them use textures from AOP, so I have them, but not applied there and some have POTC textures, that is why. But now I am looking for someone to incorporate those Islands, but we have to put the AOP ones, from the real Caribbean back in then. That is going to cost some work I think.
 
Question : are the AOP islands smaller or bigger than PotC ones, in sea mode?
I actually do like PotC islands, I would find it sad to remove them totally. If it was possible to rescale them on worldmap so that they would appear like very small islands, it could be nice... Of course that would mean being able to edit islands.gm.
Adding this new map into the game will sure be a lot of work. Not mentionning CCC Direct Sail mod that would have to be upgraded. I will really like it thought, partly because my sunrise/sunset mod requires the map to be correctly oriented N/S and not turned by 45°.
 
Those Islands are bigger. I don't think that the Direct sail mod has to be upgraded that much. Except if we needed to make new 'cells'.

When Thomas uploads them I'll have a look at turning them to their real position on the world....thats simple enough, but exporting them is another matter. Can have a go though.

Very good! But if you want to link the cities, that allready excist, just let it be. And then add the new ones. You can define coordinates ingame by putting some lines of code in your console.c (don't know but it is on the forum) by pressing f12.

But I must admit that it looks very nice! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> good job!
