Reply I wrote a couple of days ago:

To iballdriver: To install Build 13:
1) Build 12.1
2) Build 13 Full
3) Build 13 Update 3
4) Fix LAi_fightparams.c

The following files are NOT required: Build 13 Update 1 (old fix file), Build 13 Update 2 (old fix file), Build 13 Update 3 Full (only required if you install Pre Build 13 Base instead of Build 13 Full).

If you want to playtest Build 14 Alpha 6, simply install Build 14 Alpha 6 Full on top of your proper Build 13 installation.

To reader81: There are no seperate bug fixes for the game. All bugfixes are included in the Build mod, along with the new features. The new features really do improve the game though and I see no reason why anyone would want to play without them.

pieter, thanks for the clarity on the subject.

I dunno, I think this thread is still pretty relevant , thou it might be renamed "<b>Which Build?</b>". There are about 3-4 different builds floating around, and they all have different mods and edits as far as I can determine.

We should make a new thread with Frequently Asked Questions and important information for new-time members. Would somebody be willing to work on that?

In that case we should make one really good one and sticky it this time. Sorry for letting it disappear last time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

well, i'll put something up. i'm not sure wether it will be a good one though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I think we also need a thread where everyone posts their system specs, drivers and such. That will make it easier to track bugs IMO.

Do the system specs really matter that much? Perhaps a bit on performance and graphics, but not on any actual bugs. Either the game works or it doesn't. If the game performs sluggish where previously it worked fine, usually it is because of an actual bug and not a specification issue.

How about this: Have all PotC players put their current game version in their signature. Many times when people report bugs, it is unclear what game version they were using, which makes pin-pointing the bug almost impossible.

That's vaguely WHATish??? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

i don't get that one either. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Hehe, 3000AD.com is the home of the Battlecruiser games.

Battlecruiser 3000AD
Battlecruiser Millennium
and Universal Combat.

In the forums, (which are now closed and READ ONLY), the mods required everyone to have their system specs located somewhere in their sigs because the game(s) all seem to work different on different systems and drivers. Also which game version, ect.

BTW.. both BC3K and BCM are now freeware .

I think we are past these issues, considering PotC is a 2003 game. I´m quite sure most people have been to a computer store since 2003?

Of course, you never can tell <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

well, i haven't. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> anyway, it works reasonably well on my computer, apart from the occasional lag which is entirely my computer's fault.
