What's your favorite ship?

At first, a Schooner, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Later on a Corvette, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

But finally my favorite ship overall is the french Battleship, the black and gold one! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
Curently I'm sailing with three of mine MOWs all been captured.I dunno how about you guys but I don't find it hard battling against other ships with MOW's cause mainly I sink every ship only with two or one shots and if not I still mannage to board the ships cause I have instant boarding skill. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

But I find the lineship quite good too and Warships are nice!
 
Good ol' Frigate all the way. Like others said before, best combination of speed, toughness and cannon power.

For smuggling ops or bigger battles i prefer to have 1 Man oWar with me. It serves quite good as a long range 'artillery', a fall back position when i`m heavily damaged and a big transport for all the booty i can get ma hands on.

You need to pay attention what the MoW is doing though - one time it shot down one of my masts when i was right between it and an enemy ship, and on other occasions it sunk my prefered prices quicker than i could board them. Oh well. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
My favorite ship is The man o war, of course <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />
But I like the frigate and the corvette too
 
first time I played the game it was a man o war but I decided to cheat and start with the black pearl.
 
I have to say that a Battle ship is a good chice too,it's quite fast,at leats fster than the MOW and the manuverability is better than the MOWs but still it has the power to crush any ship. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

Since you like the MOWs you might enjoy the Ship of the Line (Manow50_gub) I added.

It is slightly faster than the Battleship but is not as maneuverable.
Is still is more maneuverable than the common MoWs.

As ye might know, I am not a modeler, but I have dabbled in re-skinning ships.
I've done my own Shnyava, Battleship, Flute, Galleon, and MoW.

Like Cat has done with the Lugger CT and Xebec CT, I have only released the ships that I thought filled a need or niche in the ship line up.

The way I've done it is to re-skin an existing in game model.
I don't make any changes to the gm file other than the ref to the tga.tx it uses.

Then I add it as a separate ship with appropriate ship stat changes, in the "Ships_init.c" file.

I actually made a Pegasus-look-alike out of that lady on the Manowar when I felt like going on a blast-'em-all rampage after <i>my</i> ship somehow completely vanished - <i>after</i> I cleaned out the saves!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> But then I failed to get the ship back into the game... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Love the Light Frigate (Pirate Design) ... Fast, niffty, and 32 pound guns. So far have found this one to be the best of all worlds <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

I like brigatines, sshavaghas or how do you call them and light frigates
