OK, Bought both Fallout 3 DLC's and played the hell out of both them....with every character (like 6 atm) in my game. Comments are about game setting "Very Hard", the only way to play FO3.
Operation Anchorage:
This is an extremely amazing combat simulation challenge to locate all intellegence and free all captives while completing the missions at hand.
This add-on begins like... drop all your stuff, and use only your accomplishments, skills and the weapons you can take with you on a parachute drop on to the cliffs of Anchorage. Refills on ammo and health are very hard to come by.
Won't spoil the rest of it, but you must use all of the skills you developed playing FO3's main and side quests to make it through the simulation.
My first character I played it with was level 11, and got his ass whooped big time. Level 20 characters were challanged too, even after playing through a few times. I create new characters just to play this add on.
My vote for the best (and most realistic) combat mission in a video game to date.
The Pitt:
When I tell you that you don't know what you are in for in the Pitt, I'm not kidding you.
I almost gave up just looking for the entrance of this dark and nasty place, and you don't want to be caught unprepared. The ultimate choice of good vs evil and how the outcome of the game will effect you is the path you have to choose.
The Pitt is another place where your equipment is taken from you before you start the add on, and your survival skills will be tested to the limit before you can win your stuff back. Here, in the Pitt, if you win in the arena, you will get your stuff back. If you loose however, your stuff is lost forever. I didn't take much with me whenever I played, needless to say.
The Pitt is a place of choices, challanges, head games and wit.
This is a really good add on, it allows you to get totally immersed in a faction of the game that you previously just enjoyed killing. It gives you a better perspective on the life of Slavers and Raiders. The Slavers and Raiders in the Pitt actually have a life when you compare their lives in the Capitol Wasteland.
Great stuff!!! I had alot of fun.
Now waiting for Broken Steel.
