Well, I too would like some simple instructions about how to install Build mod, something like "install PotC, download this, this and this, run that, that and that", since I have no idea how to do it correctly <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
 
The process is actually pretty simple:

Clean Install
Build 12.1
Pre Build 13
Build 13 Upgrade 3
Build 14 Alpha 6

Then install the POTC music pack for pre-Alpha 7

The other method is

Build 13 (full)
Build 14 Alpha 6 - which was originally how it was meant to go but for some reason Build 13 Full has a corrupt file in it and doesn't install 100%. So you'd best use the other method until someone can confirm Build 13 Full works.

Make sure that you back up and test each build before upgrading to the next one to ensure that you have 100% working builds.

Also don't use Alpha 7 as I don't think it works properly. (mine has that Engine.exe error thingy)

Ah! No wonder! In build 13 full there is version 1 of directsail. Version 2 is in build 13 update 3. You DO NEED update 3 on top of Build 13 full, in any case.

if you are using Pre Build 13 you need to install Build 13 Upgrade 3 else you get the Engine.exe crash if you go right to 14.6

I've found its safer to go from 13.3 to 14.6 rather than pre13 to 14.6

However if 13(full) is working then it should just be 13 to 14.6

btw in case I don't hear from everyone tomorrow. Enjoy the movie <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> (POTC3:AWE) I'm going to go see it tomorrow so it'd be nice if I could get them screen shots by tomorrow as to stay topical. If we get some screen shots the population here will significantly increase in size. (My other ModDB profile scored over 1,000 hits in just the first week of my release of the tech demo I made)

So please try and get some really nice screen shots. I'm having trouble with my computer right now so I can't get the game to run.
 
I am going to the movie too tomorrow. And I have bought the WII version, but now my arm hurts after playing to much (all that swinging with that remote.)

Does it have Barbossa as playable character in it?
 
I dunno but I doubt it. I thought it just had Jack, Will and Liz.
At least thats all I've seen in the screen shots. Plus Barbossa is a bad guy isn't he(well at least in the first movie).

So I doubt he'd be playable - more a support character.

I could give you three sceenshots (An application of side-steps, killing members of the merchant guild and playing with numpad9 key), but I don't know how to post them.
 
i have some nice screenshots, but i'll have to send them to you by email. if i post them here, a big nasty banner is in top from the image converter.
 
EDIT! ModDBs moderators told me that the banner I put on the post is too big. So I've removed it and it should be on the front page in no time.
