One of the things you learn in grade school is how to view/interpret the world around you.
You learn things in school without realizing it, just as you learned to speak a language your family members spoke without realizing it.

139, another prime, and a rhyme, right on time!

We count on our fingers, all ten.
Each value place in our numbering systems can have any of 10 digits (values) 0-9, that is Base 10.
Everything we normally do (other than computers) is based on 10.
Ten digits with value to 9 = ones
Ten times the units = tens
Ten times the tens = hundreds
Ten times the hundreds = thousands

Place value in base 2 is limited to only two digits, 0, and 1 so:
1 base 10 = 1 base 2
2 base 10 = 10 base 2
3 base 10 = 11 base 2
4 base 10 = 100 base 2
5 base 10 = 101 base 2
6 base 10 = 110 base 2
7 base 10 = 111 base 2
8 base 10 = 1000 base 2

Base 2 is like a series of switches, 1 & 0; on & off; open & closed; day & night; Lavern & Shirley ... ooops, I'm going too far ...scratch that last one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
