The counting game

really? alas, I can't be up to my usual antics today - the neighbours were quiet last night. I wonder if they're all dead? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

still, i found out that 'blackmore's night' made a lot of rock, though they apparently seem to do a lot of old folk music, and sometimes combine the two. some of the tracks off the top of my head would be:

street of dreams
i guess it doesn't matter anymore (beginning is different from the rest of the song)
still i'm sad (misleading beginning. gave me a good blast afterwards when i turned up the volume)
village on the sand (mentions pirates <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> )
loreley

and then some, which i have forgotten for now. i'll post those later when i come across them. almost all their song titles are misleading. some other good ones from them would be:

fires at midnight (contains a long electric guitar solo)
hanging tree
home again (could be a tortuga theme of sorts. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> i've got the live version sung in an irish pub, which is great fun)
diamonds and rust

maybe some others. i'll tell you when i remember.

I might have to find out if the commies like any of them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

If you're looking for any new artists to listen to, a certain Mule may be able to help <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/user_comment.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="user_comment.gif" /> (I think I'd best stop with talk like this - I'm just cruising for a warning) Just be careful if you decide to go this route - some files bite back.

Although some games, such as the FlatOut series, were what introduced me to the likes of Audioslave and Wolfmother.

naah, i got limewire. it's not so hard to avoid the virus stuff. they're kinda easy to pick out. of those soundtracks i mentioned 'i guess it doesn't matter anymore' would be my favorite, i think. the lyrics are interesting too.

no, i've got a free version. the full version is the one you have to pay for. it has the advantage of being able to download files that need multiple sources, which you can't do with the free version. but the free version works allright. bad files can be recognised by:

literally taking over the search term you typed. sometimes they add a few caps or type it completely in caps.

files that are less than 1 MB.

all those files listed as '70's hit' and such. they just add your search term behind it.

it can be useful to know how limewire works. files are downloaded from other users. you can only download them if those people are online, so it might be a good idea to refresh the search once in a while.

'hanging tree' playing right now. pretty good song, good story behind it. ooh! 'home again' just started. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
