swords and mines

where do i find the number value for swords,you know ,if i wanted to change min/max dmg ?.....& i've been reading about mines & i did download directsail 1.1....where or how can i get these mines?---thankyou
 
To change blade stats: PROGRAM\ITEMS\initItems.c

For mines: You need 300 gunpowder, press [9] at sea to put a mine in the water behind your ship.

Does this access to the num keys request enabling value in the set-up file?

Make sure that you have at least 1 barrel= 300 units of gunpowder in your hold

Press the 9 key above the letters. A barrel/mine behind your ship and a text on your screen should appear.

Or at least on European keyboards it's the 9. I doubt there is another key setup for that. In any case, it is the same key that fastequips a grenade on land.
Please check also if the 0 and 8 keys work.
 
do you mean the 9 at the top of the keyboard or the numpad 9? if it's the numpad 9, does num lock make a difference?
 
It is NOT numpad 9. If it doesn't work, go into the options menu and reset the controls to default. That might solve it. If that doesn't work either, start a new game and check if it does work then.
 
I was trying on the NUM pad... Thank you for pointing out!

And thanks for helping out so simple landlubbers as me right here can enjoy the great stuff you have put in the game. To be honest, I had thought the AOP would be the natural upgrade of this game and even bought a brand new PC out of pure excitement, the very minute the european release of AOP became actual and they stated the requirements.
And a nice game it is - the AOP, particularly in the supermod. But that was before the build 13 came out.
Since the build 13 has been released, really didn't feel like bothering with anything else, and my humble opinion Potc is now the best experience ever.
Fantastic work!
Considering I've been mindscaping with the good old story all this years, I dare say rather upgrade the Potc with the good stuff in the Aop then the other way round... providing I manage to patch up future upgrades without ruining my game... perhabs some day...
